Facilities not working and unsafe conditions
The rubber mat between the shower room and the pool area has a huge gap in it. Two people have slipped and fallen because of this. The manager said he'd look into it, but nothing has happened. It took over two months for the light in the sauna to get fixed. The sauna is now broken and they don't know when it will be repaired.

No court access even after reserving the court
My husband and I are members of lafitness since Feb 2008 and pay for racket-ball privilege. Yesterday we reserved the court for an hour and by the time we reached their it was ~14 minutes into our reserved hour and we found somebody else playing on our reserved court. As everybody else does, we mentioned to them that its our reserved time and the guy started mentioning some 15 minute rule which says that if you dont get on to the court in 15 minutes, you forfeit your right on the court. We went and checked on the front desk and the employee said that the court is still ours. We went back and started playing. 5 minutes past, the gentleman came back and said that no there is such rule.
So here is the interesting thing and the one that got me completely by surprise: The manager says, no there is no such rule written but this is something that they are planning ot work on!! I said, it might be good future rule, but since we have been always leaving the court even if somebody shows up 30 minutes late, because the rule is that you book the court for an hour and during that one hour court is yours!! no matter you play or not play on that court. That is what we pay for extra. The manager kept telling us back that its our fault that we did not show up on time, it is very bad on 'our' part that we are trying to kick somebody out from the court.. 'we' should show some courtesy. All I was asking was that if it was not mentioned ever to me that I have to be on the court right at the moment when my reservation starts, how is it my fault! On top of that why was i made to argue with them instead of the person who did not have court privilege, who did not book the court in advanced and still was allowed and infact defended to play on the court. also they kept mocking me and showed such as bad behavior. It completely pissed me off. I even told them that I am canceling my membership. now that is another gripe that I have, why could not they just cancel my membership. There was no such rule mentioned when I signed up for the memebership that I have to give them 20 days notice. Since my month gets over on 28th, that means this suckers are going to charge me for next month.
That is completely rip off, and very very bad customer service. They were essentially making their own rules and have no shame treating a right customer as wrong. I am going to join YMCA.. lets see how they are... any reviews about their health club? Please post... I did not find any.
thanks,
