I viewed the ad for smaller pores over the television sometime during last summer (2009) and decided to try the product, as I have slightly (very slightly) enlarged pores on my cheek areas closest to my nose. I really didn't realize I wasn't the target age group for this product until I brought it home, because at that time I was 24 and the product said 30+.
I had/have very mild acne and added this product to my daily routine of cleanser (containing salicylic acids) the L'OREAL product and a moisturizer. Within one week of using this product, my cheeks (the only area the pore minimizer applied) was red, swollen and tiny pus filled red bumps were there (not like pimples though, I assure you). I was concerned, because this wasn't normal for my skin so I immediately stopped using all the products. My skin then became almost scaly in the areas where the pore minimizer was used and would flake or peel off.
I have since switched to all Aveeno products that have no acids in them and I still (Feb. 2010) have problems with the two areas the L'OREAL product was applied.
I believe I freaked my skin out by using too many products with the acids in them; which severely dried my skin out and it still hasn't recovered. If I was to wash my face with a cleaner pad, I know the next morning my face will be swollen and red in the two areas on my cheeks were the L'OREAL product was used. I know it wasn't the cleanser or the moisturizer--as I have been using these two products since I was in high school--that caused my lasting skin irritation. I have told anyone I can I wouldn't recommend the L'OREAL product, not all their products, just this particular one.
