I cancelled the purchase of Pure Amazon Acai back in late October 2008. However, a charge of $4.51 keeps showing up on my credit card.
The charges have come from: 24NUTRAPURE888289874 (pending January 12, 2009, L66 VITAL HEALTH SYSTE DOVER DE (posted December 15, 2008), and OH THORTON 8882898740 CO (posted November 13, 2008).
Their phone numbers are (866) 957-8740, which I got off their original Terms & Conditions page (it has since been changed), who then gives you the number (877) 478-6375 and the website www.gohelpnow.com.
I am currently in contact with my bank about these charges and have filed a dispute and fraud claim. These people keep changing their name and charge-access point so that they can get around their fraudulent charges. My bank is actually aware of this company and has told me that they have had to deal with them on multiple occasions on behalf of their clients. My bank has told me they will refund the charges to my account and has told me to keep an eye on my account for any future charges.
It took me two weeks to get someone on the phone at (877) 478-6375. You cannot get customer service support at www.gohelpnow.com if you have already cancelled any product purchased from them. Today I was able to finally reach someone on the phone. I was told that the $4.51 charge was for a monthly newsletter that I agreed to, stated in their Terms & Conditions. I never received any such newsletter. I was told, however, that the "newsletter" would be cancelled as of today, January 11, 2009, and was given a cancellation number. I could not, though, get a refund of previous charges because I had supposedly received the previous newsletters. I am not concerned with this so much as I have taken care of it through my bank.
My problem is that they keep changing their names so they can keep making these charges to my credit card. I was told by my bank that the change in charging points makes it difficult to stop future charges. These people should not be allowed to scam customers like this. It creates distrust in the American economy.
This company needs to be stopped before more people are scammed.
