HORRIBLE COMPANY
This is the worst fitness center and anyone thinking of joining..DON"T!!! I was mislead and lied to upon initially signing my contract and now they are trying to force me to pay more money to break my contract. Customer service at the LA Fitness in Miami is HORRIBLE. I tried calling and getting in touch with the operations manager for 2 weeks, many promises of a call back were made, but I never received one. When I was able to get in touch with her she was annoyed by my frustrations. (oh she actually told me that she was annoyed by me).

When I asked for her to review my contract with the person who signed me up, she told me that they no longer worked there and it was impossible for her to do any research on my case. She then proceeded to offer me a percentage that I could pay to break the contract.

This is the worst customer service I have EVER received. I have never been treated so badly. It is almost as if they are laughing at me because they have my money and they don't care about anything else.. NEVER EVER SIGN UP FOR LA FITNESS!!!

Cancellation Policy Sucks!
LA Fitness is absolutely ridiculous! Their cancellation policy is set up as a ploy to keep the last month's service charge. I was sharing an account with my brother, and I wanted to cancel. They charge me every month on the 28th and my brother on the 24th.

I went in person to the gym and got the cancellation form. I sent in the form on the 14th, which is plenty of time before the 28th. When I saw that I still got charged on the 28th, I called them up to complain. They gave me the corporate number. When I phoned them, their excuse to having charged me was that they didn't receive the form on time. What liars!

So the second month, I sent it certified and paid almost $5, plus my time at the post office and additional frustration. I have proof that the cancellation form arrived on the 21st, still almost a week before my charge date, yet, not only did they still charge me, they had the audacity to charge me on the 24th with my brother's charge.

I was furious. My brother called up the gym and they told him that he needed to come in person and show proof of the certified mail. I told him that was ridiculously to have to make an extra trip. They do not have a fax number!

I called up a couple of hours later, and the next person told me that I needed to bring in a copy of my statement showing proof that I was charged. At this point I was so mad that I had to go through such a hard time to cancel my service and nobody could give us a straight answer. I asked for the corporate number again and I was told that they do not provide the number. He basically told me that he couldn’t help me and that I need to come in person to speak to the Operations Manager. In this day and age, I have never experienced the need to cancel anything in person-it is usually done via email or fax! These LA Fitness employees do not know what they are doing, nor do they care about the customer.

Then, they told me to come in on Monday to speak with the Operations Manager. I told them there is no way I am coming in. They need to figure this out and call me on Monday to tell me that it is resolved. They asked if I wanted to leave a message for the manager, is this guy kidding me? The manager on duty told me that the Operations Manager was very busy and that I should call back on Monday to follow up. What great customer service huh? This man named Lance in North Miami Beach didn't even care and was practically mocking me. I told him that he needs to make sure that the Operations Manager is aware of my situation and that HE needs to follow up with me! I have already put in enough effort! This business is so ridiculous, they are definitely a case for the Better Business Bureau to investigate. Next thing you know, on Monday when I call, they'll tell me that it is "TOO LATE" again. Who knows?!?!?!

Persoanl Traing
NEVER sign up for personal training sessions at LA Fitness. LA fitness employees mis-represent the agreement, do not show you anything that you are signing, and when you call to inquire about charges to your account and ask that it is discontinued the company continues to charge your credit card until you agree to buy them out for the contract you were tricked into signing.

Rip off
They will continuosly charge account even after you cancel. the staff will pretend to help you but really do nothing. they are shady salesman and you cannot trust this company. they will literally steal from you. It will become impossible to cancel any training or memberships, despite the fact that they tell you they have a cancellation period. it has been so stressful to be helpless as they pull money from my account every month. i had to close my account and they call even though ive cancelled. i use la fitness in santa fe springs and the female in charge of selling training is shady indeeed.

Offensive Rap Music
LA Fitness club started playing loud, offensive rap music the whole evening.
They removed Fox News and replaced it with controversial CNN.
Membes leave weights and trash all over the floor, and staff does nothing about it.
Interfaced with a sales staff person that was very immature and rude.

Bad service
It could have been a great place. When it first opened and i went in,

it reminded me of a mall. This gym been packed since the beginning and the only thing that's changed is most of the staff, by which there are not enough of. (You are on your own) Considering this place must be loaded ($$$) their membership has got to be 8, 000 or more. Why isn't there more help, more cleaners around the clock so we don't walk in on filth in the mornings (left at 11:am Sunday still no one cleaning) boy the germs must be in the zillions (lol). I don't go to sweaty machines i let someone else use them then i return other wise i would be wiping the place clean and that's not my job so i wash my hands often keep my hands off my face and do what i got to do. The looker rooms should have been twice the size. The comments that have been posted by others are 80% true. I like the place, people swarm to la fitness for a reason and that adds to the motivation. They have some great machines and the spin bikes are top of the line. The pool has 30 people in a class and there is no one there checking the water afterwards. And, that's one of the reasons i joined to swim. I use to think of la fitness as the YMCA but the y does a better job of managing their business. My days are numbered there. I will miss the hundreds of grannies and grandpas, the 300 pounders, the handy cap, the autistic, the teenagers . P.S. If anyone thinks that they joining to use the basketball court forget about it.

childcare
Last last time I was @ the gym I went to drop my 2 children off in the kids club. I was quickly and rudely informed that they are not a daycare & they could not feed my 10 month old son. No problem I will just give him a bottle... As I'm in a spin class I'm paged that I need to come to the kids club. My son had been sitting in his carseat for over a hour and a half and now has a poopy diaper... I asked why she didn't change him & she quickly informed me they were not a daycare. I have NEVER had this issue before. The girls in the kids club were great and always took care of my children, feeding them, changing them and I never once got attitude. Now, I'm getting attitude from the manager to whom I've never seen before. I go in today to cancel my family membership & they ask why I'm doing so. I let them know and the same manager is standing there. I tried to be nice and not mention that she was the one so rude to me but she starts going at it again with me! I quickly let her know that she is the reason why we are cancelling that she needs not to give the customers so much attitude and needs to handle things differently. I'm sorry but when I'm paying you for a service then you should be taking care of my child and not sitting on the computer playing and giving me attitude... she could have handled herself so differntly and I probably would have stayed but she seems extremely confrontational. I would not recommend this gym to anyone with children.

Personal Training Contracts
Mike Fite, the training manager at the Palm Harbor LA Fitness had me sign the wrong contract. He admitted to the mistake. I was even told that my money would be refunded but this did not happen. LA Fitness cares nothing for customer relations. I was told by corporate that they would not refund the $210.00 that was wrongly charged to my account because I used my sessions. Yes, I used them I was wrongly charged and Mike admitted to charging me wrong and still I was not refunded! NEVER NEVER give this awful comapny access to your credit card. They infuriated me so I just want to warn all other out there STAY AWAY FROM LA FITNESS.

I cancelled my two membership
On January 7 2011 I went to the L A Fitness to cancel my two membership, I asked the front desk person for, then he took my card, found my name then he gave me a 2 sheets, of the two membership. I asked him that it, he said yes, then I asked you don't charge any more month because I am caming to cancelled on time before 10 day, he said yes.

He never explaned me that I supost send these papers mail. But I am asking myself Why LA Fitness don't cancelled easy way?
