La Jolla Mazatlan Timeshare Reviews

DavefromWashingtonState1 December 9, 2010
Fraud
Another warning to prospective buyers of Boutique Resort La Jolla timeshare resort in Mazatlan.

La Jolla continues to sell timeshares to unsuspecting vacationers.

I purchased a contract two years ago, and am still working to get La Jolla to honor the contract.

While the current sales pitch ensures buyers that new management and processes have been put in place to ensure that all contracts will be honored, those same managers and the company as a whole maintains the policy that La Jolla is entitled to retain profits from signed contracts while refusing to honor specific parts.

In my case, La Jolla has unilaterally reduced the value of my contract by over 80%. Their only offer involves canceling the entire contract for a refund of a small percent (20%) of the original cost.

I returned to Mazatlan in December of this year (2010) to discuss my contract with the current management and the owner of the development.

The current managers continue to insist they have no obligation to honor their written contract (addendums signed by the same representative that signed the base contract). Somehow, they are reasoning that they should be able to profit from contracts that they are not obligated to honor.

My attempt to meet with the owner to discuss the issue failed.

For perspective buyers at this resort…..do not commit your money to a company that freely admits that they feel they are free to retain profits from written contracts that they do not feel a responsibility to honor. This is from the same management that is selling to you today.

Remember that a contract is only as good as the company that issues it. How long can you expect a company to stay in business that picks and chooses what parts of their contracts it will honor? What can you expect 5 years from now when the company is expected to honor their contracts and are no longer selling timeshares?

If you have signed a contract….you still have 5 days to cancel if you file the request with PROFECO….I am told they are effective in forcing a refund if you are within that timeframe.

Good Luck
