I went into La Tan yesterday for $5 Tuesday tans. I haven't been to any La Tan location for a while because the kids that work there - I feel don't have brains. They remind me of valley girls, no brains. Any who, I went in everything was fine and normal. I noticed that they didn't have a garbage can in there tanning room, which would have been nice especially if you have lotion packs that you need to throw away. So on the way out the door, I made a suggestion to the girls up front. There response to me was, " ahhhh...well we don't have garbage cans in the rooms because people like to pee in them, so we prefer to have them out here." What kind of response is this. It is silly. I don't need to know about your company's peeing problems. Why are they telling me this? And to take it a step further if I wanted to be a smarty pants I could have responded with, " well I guess now people will just have to pee on the floor, because apparently that is better than the garbage can." If you are going to give me a stupid answer you bet I will have something stupid to say in return. So irritated as I was, I called them back later that day. It irritates me that these teeny boppers don't have a clue, and are running the show. So I called and told the manager ( Loreli) about my visit, and she pretty much didn't see anything wrong with this statement, but she is 20 years old, so what do you expect- they don't no anything. I told her that you girls need to go through training or maybe get an education about the real world/ industry. I even gave her an example. I said, " Pretend you work at a bank and you found out that your employees are telling customers that your bank was robbed...Do you think your customers would ever come back?...the answer is NO, because someone could steal there money. So you are scaring your customers away." In a nutshell she didn't get it. So I hung up. Later about an hour later I got a call from the owner (Ted Schwartz) - who by the way loves to talk about himself. So he calls me and says, " I heard that you were giving my girls a hard time today." I said, " excuses me?" He then continued by saying, " I just want you to know that the manager that you talked with..her parents died when she was young, and she is a single parent, and she has always wanted to get an education but couldn't." What the hell is wrong with this guy. " So you called me to bitch at me, about your manager taking something personal. Well if that is the case you are in the wrong industry. Needless to say --- again he didn't understand that I was simple saying that the employees were scaring people away. Nor did he want to listen. He definitely loves to hear himself talk. He kept saying, " I have 2 masters degrees -- YEAH RIGHT! And he also continued with, I build 7 LA TANS. -----This is insane behavior, and then to top it all off with ---because his so called MANAGER - took things personal, I am not allowed back to this LA TAN. What a bunch of crap. FREEDOM OF SPEECH CIVIL RIGHTS HAVE BEEN VIOLATED! I won't stop here. I cannot believe this. I already wrote a letter to corporate stating what had happened, they are investigating the situation.
