arm injury
I went to have my blood drawn on Thursday 10 June 2010. This was for a complete blood/lipid panel ordered by my family physician. The girl at the LabCorp office was very polite, service was expedient, the office was new so it was very clean. She drew my blood, gave me a bandaid and I was on my way. By the time I got home, there was a hugh knot in my arm. After one day, I had a large bruise that continued to spread for days afterward. The attached photos were taken two/three days after the appointment. Do I really OWE this company for such a terrible experience? It is summertime and I don't want to wear short sleeves, so I have to bandage it with an ace wrap just to cover it up. Thank you for your time.

testing
recieved a test that i specifically asked if it would cost me anything after medicare coverage several times because i did not have the funds . if so i specifically said DO NOT DO SAID TEST !!! all tests weree done anyway and 1 was billed 107 bucks . spoke with supervisor there (richard) who promised it would be taked care of ...he lied 2 months later recieved another billed and called and they said the best they could do is give a 30% discount ... i said i cannot pay because i dont have the money...which is why i said in the 1st place not to do the test if it would cost me anything at all!!! the lady said nothing she could do its your credit file that will be affected ...2 months later i borrowed the money and paid /w the discount the girl keisha did not even care and just kept asking for my credit card info ( probably the most heartless rep i ever spoke with). gave me my conf# and hung up on me >>all reps at labcorp are like robots if ever possible i will avoid any testing at this awful company and i suggest any one who reads this do the same because if you get tests often a problem will most likly occur with the employees they hire . i will also write a letter to a labcorp executive maybe they will care...chris

Fraudulent Billing
As part of a regular health checkup, my doctor ordered a series of blood tests. She provided me with a LabCorp work order that specified 3 different blood tests.

I took this work order to LabCorp in Greenville, Texas. The lady who dealt with my paperwork informed me that 2 of the tests listed on the work order would not be covered by Medicare and she printed out the Labcorp Form CMS-R-131 where both test were listed and I checked and signed the appropriate section – Option 3 – I don’t want the laboratory test(s) listed above. I understand with this choice I am not responsible for payment and I cannot appeal to be if Medicare would pay. I have a copy of that form in my possession.

This same lady assured me that the third test on the work order form WAS covered by Medicare, so I went ahead and blood was drawn.

Several weeks later I received a bill from LabCorp which listed 4 different tests had been performed on my blood. Medicare had been billed and had denied payment on all 4. LabCorp was billing me for everything.

This despite the fact that:
a) The work order from my doctor only specified 3 tests
b) I had signed LabCorp’s own form declining 2 of the tests
c) Their representative assured me that the third test WOULD be covered by Medicare.
d) They will give me no explanation of the fourth test appearing on their bill.

I have been in touch with LabCorp repeatedly, but no-one has shown the slightest inclination to sort this mess out. In fact I received a form letter in the mail from them yesterday explaining that the bills are for “Clinical Laboratory Services Performed at the request of my physician”.

BS – I have a copy of their Form CMS-R-131 here in front of me as I write, categorically declining 2 of the tests, while their own representative assured me that the third test on the work order was not a problem and was covered by Medicare.

Not only did LabCorp frivolously ignore the fact that I had signed their own form to decline 2 tests, they completely misinformed me on the third and also added a fourth test, apparently of their own choosing.

Stay right away from LabCorp. They are incompetent and unethical and their customer service is non-existent, nobody gives a damn.

This place should be shut down
Went to Labcorp for medical tests Sarasota. There were several elderly patients arguing with confrontational Labcorp employees that they had provided urine samples, staff insisted they had not. Elderly man stated that he witnessed his sample being stolen.

My blood was drawn and was handed a cup and plastic lid like a coffee cup. Name written on it, no number. Bathroom was filthy there were numerous puddles, spots of urine onfloor, counters, sinks. Many rings of urine left by previous cups on the counter. Apparent that urine was from numerous persons. No alcohol wipe or instructed to wipe my hands.

Not sanitary
I went to Labcorp for routine medical tests today. 1217 East Ave, Sarasota FL

When I arrived there were several elderly patients arguing with confrontational Labcorp employees that they had provided urine samples while the staff insisted that they had not. One elderly man stated that he witnessed his sample being stolen by another individual there for a drug screening.

When my turn came, my blood was drawn and I was handed a cup and a plastic lid that looked like a paper coffee cup. It had my name written on it with pen, no number. I was told to go into a bathroom. The bathroom was filthy and there were numerous puddles and spots of urine on the floor, the counters, the sinks. There were also several rings of urine left by previous cups on the counter. It was apparent that the urine was from numerous persons.

I was not given an alcohol wipe or instructed to wipe my hands. The woman scolded me for handing her the cup and told me to leave it on the dirty counter. I told her that the bathroom was filthy and she said someone clean it later.

The employees there were morbidly obese, confrontational, rude, and appeared to have a limited intellect.

I am 50 years old and have utilized the health system in several states, Mexico, Central America and South America. I have never witnessed such a bizarre situation and unsanitary conditions in a healthcare facility.

This facility is below third world standards and I do not feel comfortable with the integrity of any results.

I tried to report this to the state and county health departments as well as United, all were disinterested. Unfortunately they operate in the same non caring ineffective manner. Luckily I can leave the 4th world FL USA health system and obtain health care in south america

Bad experience
In July 2009, my daughter had a test that Labcorp processed. I received a bill stating that her insurance had denied the claim. Actually, LabCorp billed the wrong insurance. I received a request to provide updated information on or about August 15, 2009. I faxed the information to them, secure in the knowledge that her claim would be processed.

I received another notice regarding the unpaid balance which I ignored because it had only been about a week since I gave them the updated information. About a month later, I received a notice stating that the bill still hadn't been paid and that I was being turned over to a third party collections agency.

I called Labcorp and the representative stated that the claim had been turned in to the insurance and that it was being processed. I disregarded the notice.

In December, I got a call from Lapcorp's collections department. I called the number back prepared to pay whatever the insurance hadn't covered. The representative at that time told that they did not have correct insurance information, but if I could give her the updated information, she would file it and told me to disregard the notice.

Since then, I have continuied to get calls from the collections department and each time, I have given the above story and they tell me to disregard the call.

Yesterday, I got another statement from Lapcorp stating the bill had not been paid and that I needed to provide additional insurance info.

I called Blue Cross and Blue Shield to see what the hold up was. Lo and behold, they paid the claim on July 30, 2009 and all I owed was the patient co-pay. I called Labcorp and of course, a supervisor wasn't available. Their story is that the insurance company is denying the claim and that I owe the full amount. I told them the date the insurance paid, how much they paid and what they showed as the patient responsibility. The agent then told me that I would need to send them a copy of the covered services notice from the insurance carrier in order to have my account credited. I will do this, only because I do want to pay my portion of the bill and because I am really tired of stating my case to people who don't care.

If you have a choice, please choose another lab to process your tests! That is what I plan to do and I had it noted on my account with Labcorp that I would no longer use their services and that I would spread the word to anyone who would listen that their services are not worth the hassle to get a bill paid.

I recently visited your lab in Pgh, PA 15221, invoice 83301397,

plan, and, i'm a student, and, just recently October 3, 2009, just
turned 21. I don't have 366.00. Please take care of this invoice
thru my insurance carrier.

Advertisment in Bill
I just got a LabCorp Bill with hat a advertisement flyer in it trying to sell me 25c coin collections. Wtf is wrong here? Now a bill includes ads too? Nice the the little fine print states that LabCorp is not affiliated with the sellers... Guess I'm tossing the bill in the trash... I thought it was some advertisement.

Rude
I left a voicemail and never received a return call. I went to the office and the lady at the desk was rude and impatient. I was inquiring about special directions my doctor attached to my test and she told me that was Labcorp's business. I remained polite and left. I'm guessing the standard's aren't very high to work there if you can't even get subpart customer service. On top of that she seemed very quick to be defensive which usually means your not on the up and up.
