Terrible place
I entered into a contract for Lakeview Upholstery to replace the fabric on a classic chair. It was in pristine condition with no spring or structural problems. Mr. Pesci he indicated that the reupholstery work would be done within one business week (5-6 days). However, when his workman showed up to pick it up he said it would be two to three weeks. I refused to turn the chair over to him (and threatened to stop the deposit check) until he signed a statement saying that the work would be completed within the week. On April 22, 2008; I got a call saying that I would have to pay about $400 dollars more to have the chair completed due to "webbing and spring problems". I informed Mr. Pesci that there were no pre-existing problems with the chair - as he himself saw on his visit - and directed Mr. Pesci not to make any "repairs". I requested that he complete only the work that we contracted for. Mr. Pesci said he would not do the work without the $400 in additional repairs. I then asked him to put the chair back together and provide me with a full refund. He stated that the only option available to me was to pick up the chair in its current state (no assembled) and the fabric that I paid for, as no refund would be provided. I then went online and found a number of complaints against Mr. Pesci and Lakeview Upholstery (and found out that the check I wrote to Lakeview Upholstery had just gone through the previous day, which may have prompted the request for additional monies - as the company now had my chair and the money). I followed up on April 23 and was told by Mr. Pesci that I would have to engage in litigation to have the chair or the $396 returned. I made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which I found out has registered nine (9) complaints against Lakeview Upholstery in the last 36 months. The company ignores all BBB complaints, continues to post misleading and incorrect information on its website and defrauds customers with impunity - despite a rash of lawsuits.

Bad service
This man is a liar, I would strongly advise that you look elsewhere for your upholstery needs. Please note:
1. He will represent that he owns the upholstery/fabrication workshops - he does not, he sources out to Proupholstery
2. He will represent that he sells fabric at cost and they are of high quality - they are not. They are mostly synthetics and used in marine/office applications
3. Your project will most certainly be delayed and he will say it was because of either the fabric was delayed or damaged ... also a lie. I am going on 6 weeks ...
Do yourself a favor and do not use this company, Joe Pesci (if that is his name) is a fast talking charlatan and Lakeview upholstery is a borderline criminal enterprise - all you have to do is check the Better Business Bureau and Complaints.com - the only reason he gets any inbound business is that he pays for ad placement in Google. STAY AWAY !!

scam
Joe Pesci, owner came to my house and took a cushion for reupholstering with fabric I ordered from him. He took my deposit of half the order amount and I have not heard from him since. I have called numerous times and he has never returned my calls. I have reported him to BBB and will take him to small claims court next for principle. This man is a scam artist, BEWARE!

No money refund
We contracted with Lakeview Upholstery to recover our vintage dining room chairs. He took our down payment check and never scheduled our chairs to be picked up. After trying to contact them three times, and then finally asking for our money back, they contacted us and said that they could pick them up that afternoon. We said we would prefer to get our money back--we felt they were not reliable (especially after reading all the horrible customer stories on-line). He said he would not refund our money because he had purchased the fabric. So we asked for the fabric. Two months later, we still have yet to receive the fabric or any money back.
