On June 25, 2010, Don Burling, Landscape Designer & Horticulturist, did a "15 Step Lawn Analysis" on my lawn and identified a disease problem in my back yard which he identified as gray leaf spot. He charged me $125 for a one time application to "protect the lawn" and told me to expect the lawn to look worse before it got better. After thirty days, I called because the majority of my lawn had died and been replaced with a variety of weeds. Don sent one of his technicians to look at the lawn and the technician said the lawn wasn't getting enough water and they retreated the lawn for another $135. As part of the Florida wet season, there was rain almost daily for three weeks. The lawn deteriorated rapidly and I called Don to personally inspect the lawn. He reluctantly came out and accused me of watering the lawn to much. I pointed out to him that "mother nature" had been watering the grass for the past three weeks and I had no control over the weather. I pointed out to him that the lawns to the left and right of my property were green and vibrant and had experienced the same watering by "mother nature." The only advantage they had over me was they hadn't contracted with his company for lawn health care! He sputtered some nonsense and said his company had done everything they could and it was my problem. My problem is a three to four thousand dollar cost to re-sod the back yard.
Bottom line if you have an opportunity to do business with Landscape Health Care run the other way. The company should be more appropriately re-named - Landscape Death Care!
