Concerning Langocity's Mandarin One Module Course: Langocity neglects to say on its website that this is a course circa 1970 or thereabouts. Although it may still be effective in this day and age of language learning; Langocity's Mandarin Course is extremely bland and boring. This course is available Free at the Foreign Service Institute's website:http://www.fsi-language-courses.com/
Below is BBB complaint about the non-refund that went unanswered by Langocity.
I purchased one Mandarin Language course for $39.95- I double clicked the button so I was charged twice for $39.95. Incredibly, Langocity said a refund would take two billing cycles which I took to mean two months (I have a prepaid debit card so I do not get a bill). Although, that is not what I have experienced when it comes to refunds I took them at their word. The purchase and overcharge took place on February 16, 2009. Today is April 28. I have used langocity's customer care page to alert them, repeatedly, to this problem this week, as well as called their 800 number and left a voice message asking for Langocity to call me. I have not received any, not one responsepar concerning this problem beyond automated auto-responses that it is under review by staff. I have been patient with their ridiculous two-month to refund overcharge policy and have lost patience with them, especially as Langocity apparently feels they do not have to respond to alegitimate complaint, which is sad and annoying and immature.par par The fact is they have $39.95 of my-my money which they said would be refunded in 60 days and that has not happened. par par Not returning someones property or money is stealing it would seem.par Incidentally, I received a refund to my card from another business in mere hours.
Consumer's Desired Resolution: I want $39.95 for the overcharge refunded to my debit card immediately.}
