Great classes
I have now taken Russian language lessons with Natalia at Langua World for just under three months. Already after this short period of time I can hardly believe the progress I have made under her guidance and tuition. From basically a near zero starting point I am now able to have conversations in Russian about day-to-day subjects and am starting to read Russian newspapers, short stories and texts.
Natalia is an excellent teacher. She has a very clear program of what to achieve jointly with a student and will make sure that students stick to the program, do the required reading and homework and will take the time to ensure that the necessary lessons, vocabulary and grammar have been learnt before moving on. At the same time she has the necessary flexibility to pursue a line of discussion or an issue of interest where necessary or helpful to make the lesson interesting.
Natalia's very clear focus on balanced teaching (vocabulary and grammar at the same time to avoid unbalanced learning) is extremely helpful for both beginners and advanced students as it avoids the typical twin traps of language learning (too little vocabulary or too little grammar).
I can highly recommend Natalia as a Russian language teacher and wish everyone who studies with her the same speedy progress and pleasure at setting out to master an exciting new language as I am experiencing.

Awful company
On 5/22/09, I signed a contract for services from Langua World for ten (10) 1-hour Hindi Lessons, meeting on Tuesday & Thursdays commencing on Tuesday 5/26/09. I paid for these services in full in advance on 5/22/09. On 5/26/09, I received a phone call that the lessons were postponed to the following week. On June 1, 2009, the company still failed to render any classes. After speaking to them on the phone, it was clear that they were not going to start classes on the specific dates as stated on the signed contract. At this time, via email I asked to receive a full refund. Stating that they violated the terms of the contract. I signed up for classes that started on a specific date for a specific amount of duration and at specific time. No where in the agreement did it state that Langua World was at liberty to change any of the above. Langua World proceeded to reschedule the class once again to Friday, June 5th, to which I replied that was not part of the agreement and I could not attend due to prior commitments. They said they were once again cancelling the class and I was not entitled to a refund. In conclusion, there was a binding agreement between me & Langua world that stated in exchange for payment, I would receive ten 1-hour Hindi Lessons on Tuesday & Thursdays starting on 5/26. I committed to these specific lessons, not any other variation. By accepting my payment, they too are committing to rendering these particular services to me. By not doing so, they are violating the terms of the agreement.
I have many emails, receipts, and other documentation to prove this case. If the company rebuts, I will post the evidence. Please do not be duped into the scam - they will take your money while being rude & disrespectful to you.
I am so sure that this is a scam, that I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the NY Small Claims Court, and Paypal.
