Hi,
I don’t know if this is the proper place to write to my grievances and providing suggestive measures for improvement on Hp products. Please forward the mail to the respective department with a copy to me will be benefited.
I would like to know about the ways to increase Laptops.Notebooks life span?
Is it by using the laptop with the battery power only?
Is it by using the laptop more on an AC Outlet using an Adaptor?
Is it not the ideal way to protect the main Unit by using Fuse or similar electrical/electronuic arrangement without causing hazard to the main Unit?
The reason behind is on 28TH June 2008 I purchased a Laptop/notebook model C770/TU Compaq Make, went off on 24th June 2009, when it was in standby mode connected to an Ac Outlet in my residence. The very next day I took the unit along with the adaptor to The HP/Compaq authorised Service center "Maha Electronics, Somajiguda, Hyderabad". After Normal Inspection they told though my laptop is within warranty but since being a burnt case it would not be under warranty.
Two days back I have received a quotation from them of Rs 13000 (thirteen thousand Indian Rupees), I need to pay since the motherboard of the laptop has become defective.
My earnest request to you is won't there be any preventive measures for costly and sophisticated instruments like the one mentioned above, with a simple fuse or kind a integrated in the Ac Adaptor to protect it from the damage that i had to face. Now I have admitted to pay for the Motherboard, since I didn't get any other alternative from the Service Centre.
Therefore would like to share whether running Laptops using Battery Power is better than using AC Adaptor. I still have doubt that there might have been some manufacturing defect with the unit and that's why it has gone wrong else A protective measure should be provided before the unit to prevent it from such kind of losses which has to totally borne by the customer only.
At least Users beware before buying Laptops from HP/COMPAQ
