Unfair charge to exteded warranty
We purchased a 2005 Ford Freestar from Lasco Ford in Fenton MI in August 2005 along with an extended warranty. We were told the full amount of the warranty would be refunded if we did not use it. The only warranty work done on the vehicle was while it was still under the 36, 000-mile factory warranty.
When we applied to Signet Financial Group for the refund, they said we were inelible because there was a charge. Lasco Ford charged us $36 for a "courtesy" vehicle they loaned us while they waited for parts they ordered for the work they did on our Freestar while it was still under factory warranty. We were told it was "standard" practice to charge a courtesy vehicle to people with extended warranties without their knowledge or consent.
We have been back and forth with both Lasco Ford and Ford Motor Company for more than two months. All they are interested in doing is passing the blame back and forth and refusing to take any responsiblity or help us get our $2, 100 back.
If you purchase an extended warranty--which I will never make the mistake of doing again--you might as well use it because they is no way you are ever getting your money back. I will also never again purchase a vehicle from Ford Motor Company of Lasco Ford.

Extended Warranty Refund Refusal
We purchased a 2005 Ford Freestar at Lasco Ford of Fenton, MI in August 2005. We purchased an exteded warranty through the dealership at the same time from Signet Financial Group. The warranty stated that if it was never used, the full amount would be refunded. The only work ever done on the vehicle was when it was still under the 36, 0000-mile factory warranty.
Last fall, when we submitted paperwork to Signet for the refund, we were told we were ineligible because there was a charge on it. When the vehicle was in for maintainance while still under the factory warranty, Lasco Ford charged $36 to the extended warranty for use of a "courtesy" vehicle they loaned us while they waited for parts that were ordered for our Freestar. This was done without our knowledge or consent.
We have been going between Ford Motor Company and Lasco Ford for over two months trying to get this issue resolved and get our $2, 100 refunded. All they are interested in doing is telling us they cannot help us and passing us off to each other.
Under no circumstances should you buy an extended warranty from Ford. I will never again purchase a vehicle from either Ford or Lasco even if they are the only manufacturer and dealership left in America.
