I am writing in regards to a recent (extremely regrettable) purchase at the LASTMAN BAD BOY Kitchener store. My mother and father paid over $2200 for a leather reclining couch/loveseat/recliner set for the sole reason that the staff there guaranteed delivery by May 18th to their cottage because they were having company down for the long weekend.
My mother, who is terminally ill and frequently unable to drive or stand for any extended periods, took a day off work, drove an hour and half to the cottage to wait. And that she did. ALL DAY! By 6pm she called the delivery service which informed her that her deliver date had been rescheduled to June 1st. Not only did she waste a day off work, endure an uncomfortable drive and wait at an empty cottage, she was NOT INFORMED in ANY way beforehand that the furniture was re-scheduled. Her guests, myself--her pregnant daughter--included all had to sit in LAWN CHAIRS in their living room the entire weekend.
Contacting the sales person and the "manager" JOSEPH (who we later found out was NOT the manager at ALL!), yeilded no help on a refund because of your no refund policy. If you BREAK a contract with a customer, you should MAKE IT RIGHT or refund their money. They swore up and down that the deliver would be made June 1st.
Last night (May 31st) she was much too sore to drive herself down to the cottage and so I, her STILL pregnant daughter, had to also take the day off work to drive an hour and a half to wait in an empty cottage for the delivery. We made sure to call first thing this morning to see when it would be coming. I'm not exactly sure why we were so shocked to hear from the delivery company that AGAIN our deliver had been re-scheduled WITHOUT our knowledge to June 8th.
We were livid.
We called JOSEPH immediately. At first we were put on hold by a sales person for about 10 minutes while she found JOSEPH. I told my mother to just call back as she was getting more and more upset listening to the self-glorification bad boy announces to customers waiting on the line. Well, Joseph picked up that time and after hearing my mother's name and reviewing her complaint he immediately told her he needed to get her sales number and handed the phone off to someone else.
It took us another 15 minutes of waiting and requesting to speak with him again before he came back on the line.
My mother demanded her money back, which he said he couldn't do, that only the manager would be able to authorize that (that's who we were told me were TALKING TO!?).
This company is a disgrace.
I finally googled HEAD OFFICE BAD BOY BLAINE and could not get the HEAD OFFICE NUMBER (which SHOULD be on your webpage for incidences just such as this). Instead the first DOZEN entries that came up were ALL COMPLAINTS!! All people frustrated with the service, the product, the way they were treated and most commonly THE PROMISED AVAILABILITY and DELIVERY SERVICE (or lack there of).
I don't want a comment replied back to this board, I don't want a call from anyone at the Kitchener store. I would like a personal apology to my parents from Blaine Lastman so that he can see exactly how badly the Kitchener store is smearing his family's name. A name with which I will forever associate with complete shysters.
I will further be posting this account on every complaint board and better business bureau website, as well as in our local paper (at my own cost if necessary), through email, on twitter, facebook and every social media outlet that will allow me to.
These messages never reach anyone important, and these issues aren't ever dealt with to the customer's satisfaction once the company has their money, but I hope at least to warn as many people as I can reach about your deplorable business tactics, starting today.
