Lastman's Bad Boy Furniture Reviews

LIES!
I made a purchase of three appliances; fridge, stove, and dishwasher. I specifically asked if all three were in stock before I made my purchase and both the sales woman (Ester) and the manager had confirmed they were. The following week during delivery everything came except for the dishwasher because it was on back order! I called to find out when the delivery would be because I had wasted my day waiting for them at home only to have Ester not picking up on my calls. When I finally got through not only did she patronize me by calling me 'Honey' she didn't even call me back when she said she will to inform me of what's happening with my purchase! I have YET to know when my appliance will arrive and they've all be paid in full!

Poor Service
I bought some furniture from Bad Boy Scarborough branch on 2007 worth about $2, 000 and had no problems. I came back the following year for a $600 couch with no problems also. But on October 2009, when I bought some furniture worth abot $5, 000 their service became so terrible that it is not worth it going back to them anymore.

There was spring box backorder and I called the Scarborough branch that out of the so many furniture, they forgot the box spring. Told them that it was a blessing in disguise because I needed a split box spring instead of the regular one. After one week, the delivery guys came back with the regular back spring and not the split one.

Went to the store and followed up with the sales guy with regards to the split box spring. I ended up buying a loveseat worth $800 so they can just deliver them at the same time. The salesguy said that he'd inform me via telephone within 2 days but after 5 days, I did not hear from them and inspite of repeated messages for a return call, nothing, not even from their manager.

I ended up of going to the store and spoke with the manager. Apparently, the salesguy did not enter the additional cost to the split type hence it was held up in delivery. I told the manager that it was not good business practice that the salesguy did not inform me of the added cost. The manager agreed and said that all was even and even gave me a $50 gift certificate.

1 day prior to the promised delivery date, I got a call from their delivery department that I still owed them$171 for the split box spring. I called the store again and spoke with a different manager who was oblivious to the issue since the other manager I dealt with was on his day-off. I just wanted to get through with the deal since the $1, 000 mattres was getting ruined without the split box spring.

Now, I informed the other manager that I was not told of the added cost and the previous manager supposedly wrote it off. Nonetheless, I told him to just deliver all the items just to get over the issues already and will pay the additional $171. I told them that I am not a happy customer and will definitely spread around the bad service. The response of the manager, "I do not care about your threats, all we want is to make you happy." Now was that stupid and ironic on how to make a livid customer. Moreso, the manager does not care.

That is Bad Boy for you, extremely bad service, will not return your phone calls, additional cost to your part without the proper disclosure and you are held hostage since all sales are final.

Customer Service
I purchased a bedroom and mattress set from Bad Boy and they delivered it about a week later. When they tried to take the box spring upstairs, it didn't fit so the delivery guy suggested that I call back the store and request a split mattress. They took back the box spring to the store. Up until this point I was somewhat pleased as they had told me that the bureau would be delivered at a later date but they actually found one and surprised me with having all eight pieces.
I called the KW store and after talking to a few people they said that I needed to get approval from their customer service area before they could send me another box spring. So, I called their customer service number and left a message. After a few hours I called back and asked for customer service again and got the machine again. I called back the KW store and they told me that the customer service for KW is one person and that I would have to wait a few days before she could call me back. They need me to tell her that I need a new box spring so that she can call the KW store and tell them that a customer needs a new box spring. They seem to recognize the one person customer service is a bottle neck, but instead of hiring someone to help her or giving the store more autonomy (and the store was definitely not busy since they are able to pick up my phone calls after one ring and the eight or nine sales people sitting around and chatting to each other also makes that clear) and letting them service the customers they've decided that it's acceptable to keep customers waiting for no reason.

Also, I specifically asked the Peter, the sales person, whether I would have to put together the furniture myself. He assured me that "this wasn't IKEA", and all I would have to do is put on the handles and screw the posts into the bed. Apparently he forgot about putting together the bed frame, having to drill holes in the back of the bureau, lifting and attaching the mirror and putting the furniture on it's side in order to put on the feet. At least IKEA already has the holes pre-drilled!!! What was the point of lying to my face? All it meant was that I would have prepared for the additional work by getting help that day. Liars!!!

Buyer beware!
I recently made a purchase at the new Bad Boy store in Kitchener. I paid for the item in full(unfortunatley). A couple days later I returned to the store to cancel my order and only then was made aware that ALL SALES ARE FINAL. I was not entitled to a refund, only an in store credit that is only valid for one year. This was a suprise to me, as Bad Boy does not advertise this in the newspaper flyers, or do they post this information in their store. The only place I could find the words ALL SALES FINAL was when the sales person showed me this on the receipt that I signed when I made the purchase. It is in very small print at the very bottom of the receipt. Who do they expect to see that? Anyway, I just want to make other buyers aware of the Bad Boy policy, since Bad Boy themselves does not tell the consumer about this policy until after the purchase, when they want to cancel the order. What a crock! Needless to say I am now out over $600.00 because I refuse to go back to this store again.

I hope you think twice before making a purchase at Bad Boy. This kind of policy will not last in Kitchener. I am positive Bad Boys doors will be closed in less than a year.
