On April 25, 2008, I owned my motorcycle for 1 year. Of the first year, I was out of the country working offshore for 8 months. The 4 months I was home, my motorcycle was in the shop over 50 days! The air breather was ripping off going down the road, not once, twice, but 4 times! I almost had a wreck trying to catch it on one occasion. The front end had a wobble, and the steering had to be tightened. At Sturgis in August, my rear wheel was peeling. I emailed pictures to Latch Lone Star Harley in Tyler, Texas. Service with Latch Lone Star Harley was at their convenience, not yours. They are more concerned about making a dollar, than warranty work and keeping a customer satisfied. It was finally in February when I got the replacement wheel put on, and I had to have it done at another dealership in East Texas. At that time, I f I found out that I had a busted rear wheel bearing! I consider myself lucky to be alive! But the story gets better!! The bike is also seeping oil around the heads. This bike has less than 5K miles on it and the bike is a $31, 000.00 piece of* ***! I filed the Texas lemon law and went to court just recently and waiting 60 days on a judgment. I fear for my life and any other with this Harley loosing parts going down the road.
To anyone about to buy a new Harley... BEWARE! There grounds in court were that I had the exhaust changed... so it was not under emissions warranty. They told me as long as the exhaust was put on by Harley, and a program tuning kit, it was under warranty! I was lied to at Latch Lone Star Harley in Tyler, Texas. This exhaust and tuner cost me $2000.00 at the time of sale. On the day we went to court, they offered me a 2008 bike with factory exhaust, which we all know sounds like a Honda Rhonda! I told them NO! If I wanted something that quiet, I could have purchased 4 Honda's for that one Harley. I would have NEVER brought this bike, if I knew then, what I know now. So I am now waiting on a verdict from Texas.
