24 hour grace period
The Grace period is a lie. They hold your deposit a day which cancels out the grace period. It is not valid on weekends which means the bank being closed you cannot get the money in on time. They all have different ways of lying to pacify you and no one has the same explanation of how their bank works. It is as if they all had lessons on how to keep the customer at bay, and then you get hit with fees. Three different employees of the branch in Cascade Michigan had told me three different stories, of the deadline to deposit the money. One said, in by 5 is ok, another said 5:30 and ok in the ATM and the Manager told me that it was ok to deposit until 10:00 that nite. Nonetheless I had it in early and they hit me with 3 (37.50) fees. Their online banking is not what they go by, their screen reads differently, so you really do not know what is going on with your acct. even if you keep an accurate record, as we know things clear at different rates so I rely on the online banking, but apparently that is not accurate. I did things exactly as they said I should to avoid fees, and I even asked the tellers to be sure, and this was a lie. I got hit with nine fees after depositing 200.00 more than I needed and they overdrafted me. Then when I went in the handed me a bunch of different explanations as to why this happened. The grace period is a TRICK. I was a bank teller a long time ago so I am not unfamiliar with banking, and in this day and age, certainly offering this grace period because people sometimes get in a bind, should not be so difficult to comprehend. These are professional liars. They tell you the overdraft fee is 23.00 and it is another LIE. Stay away, if you are not a person that can have thousands in the bank at all times and unfortunately, the people they are preying on are those that work hard and live paycheck to paycheck. SHAME ON YOU HUNTINGTON BANK. I'm sure many more posts about this scam will be posted!
