I hope we can do something about this company. I see that there is a class action lawsuit against them under their other name of Northern Leasing.

I started a consulting firm in 2007 when my job was sent overseas. I had gone to my accountant to find out how to run quickbooks (new to business ownership) and met this woman named Carma Corriher from Encore payment systems. She was in my accountants office when I got there signing up another small business in town. I was working with an account at that time that I was having a hard time getting payment from and he had told me several times that if I accepted credit cards, that he could just pay the charges with his corporate card. I fell for it and I’ve been paying every since. I was told that if the business folded, Carma would transfer the lease for me, no problem. Guess what, she stopped taking my calls about a year ago. I have sent her emails, countless phone calls, etc. Nothing. I have tried to speak with her supervisor and after about 4 days of calling Encore, I finally spoke to someone that said they could not do anything about it. Encore said that these sales reps were not employed by Encore, they are supposedly independent contractors and that Encore has no responsibility to what they are telling us.

In addition to the problems with Encore, Lease Source was of course my leasing company. When my business failed, I attempted to contact them on multiple occasions to cancel the lease. They told me there was no way out of it. I couldn’t even pay the lease off. I closed my business account in January of this year. The calls started immediately and came somewhere between 2-15 calls a day. I changed my phone numbers and SOMEHOW, they obtained those! I started calling Carma every time Lease Source called me. Nothing.

Finally in April of this year, I sent the equipment back to Encore. The calls from Lease Source continued as they had from day 1. Then, to top it all off, I noticed this weekend that Lease Source has somehow obtained my personal checking account information and is making unauthorized debits from my account. I spoke with a man at Lease Source today that told me that he had to pull that payment because otherwise, they were going to sue me.

To make a 2 year long story short, I have been lied to by both Encore payment systems and Lease Source. I have been harassed to no end and embarrassed with the calls in front of my family. Woken early practically every morning of the weekend (and a few days when I was sick). When Lease Source finally agreed to give me a payoff, every amount that has been quoted has been widely varied. NO ONE will tell me how they obtained my personal checking account information and I whole heartedly believe that it was in an illegal manner.

What can we do????!!!??????? We are the “little people” and I don’t even know where to turn! I’m broke!!! I can’t afford to take this company (set of companies) on!
