Ms. LeeAnn Rost aka LeeAnn Vanderpool sold our family a 16 week old female yorkie puppy that had a congenital spinal deformity. We only had the puppy for less than 12 weeks before she died. This deformity caused the puppy's spine to bend at a 90 degree angle which caused the puppy to beome paralyzed shortly after the purchase. After recieving this devastating news from our vet & veiwing the x-rays we and our vet called LeeAnn and told her about the issue. She stated the she would definitely replace the puppy for us, but didn't have a female. We told her we would talk & get back to her the next day. Well, The next day I found an amimal surgeon that was willing to do a $3100.00 spinal surgery on our current puppy. We though if it could save her we would be willing to do it. We then called LeeAnn several times before getting her to call us back and she only returned that call because we left a message about the surgeon we had found & what we were wanting to do. She was more than happy that we were willing to do that surgery because if all went well she had nothing to lose and nothing to replace. However, the puppy was not helped by the surgery. The deformity was unable to be corrected & her lungs were now being chrushed by her shifting spine & ribcage. She was completely incontinent & paralyzed and now she could hardly breathe. She even started having episodes of passing out. After a very bad breathing spell, we took her in to our Vet, he told us she was dying form this deformity and there was nothing left to do to save her. We had done everything we could. We then contacted LeeAnn again, no return on our calls, so I emailed her about the puppy's death. Had to email several times & threaten to show up at her front door before getting a response. She then stated that she had decided not to replace the puppy or refund the money. She has changed her reason for that several times now. First it was because we did the surgery and that ended her contract...However the contract says nothing about that & neither did she before the surgery that she knew about well in advance. Then she said she asked for the puppy back. Now, She never once asked for that poor dying puppy back & the contract never stated anything about bringing dying puppies back. That was just another excuse to do nothing. Her most recent excuse is trying to possibly blame the puppy's death on an injury of some sort. Never mind the fact that she has been given all documented proof from Vet's & Surgeons that this puppy was sick from birth with a spinal deformity that was probably caused by inbreeding. LeeAnn doesn't honor her contracts, she lies and hides when things go wrong. Do not purchase anything from this woman, she is not a good person. She claims to be a good christian, but she has yet to make things right with us. She has never even apologized for what she put us all through! Please find a reputable breeder to purchase from. LeeAnn is not part of that group. I will share all my medical records, statments from the surgeon & vet, and proof of calls & emails to anyone who ask.
