customer service
I noticed a crack appearing between the screen and the keyboard on my laptop, so i looked up computer repair places in my area as it was a small job and my warranty had just expired. When i took it to the shop i was told that outside repair could only be done by lenova and they wont provide parts outside of lenova. I was annoyed as i new how long it would take through lenova but went home and contacted them. Here is where my nightmare begins, i was transfered every where (even china at one point). After about an hour i finally got a service representive with awful english skills. I was told that since my warranty was expired i could not have it repaired even though i was happy to pay for it. I also can not i have it repaired any where else and bassically should just throw it in the bin. When i told him that it was against the trades and practices act in australia to sell a product that can not be repaired within a reasonable time period ( remember my laptop is just over 12 months old and apparantly you can get extended warrantys, of which i wasnt told about). He became extreamly rude and told me he couldnt understand me because of my accent (its australian), when clearly his english wasnt his first language. So i have had to call the place that i bought from, and tell them what lenova said, of which they were surprised as they didnt know that and there the ones who are actually liable now and may have to refund to entire computer as there the ones who sold it. Never buy from lenovo, they sell cheap products they are designed to just outlast their warranty, wont allow it to be repaired and expect you to buy another one.
