Let's Talk Reviews

good service after problem
I ordered a phone online with Let's Talk and they mistakenly opened a new account for me rather than upgrading my phone and extending the contract on my old phone. I only found this out after the phone had been shipped and I was given a new phone number. I immediately emailed every Let's Talk address I could find asking for IMMEDIATE help. I was called within 15 minutes of sending the emails by a very nice woman who immediately deactivated the new phone and explained the procedure Let's Talk would use to cancel the new account and extend the contract on my old phone. As Let's Talk only sends out cancellation requests on Mondays and this happened around the Christmas/New Years holidays, it took a bit longer than usual, but the new account was cancelled as promised and all is resolved. I had read the reviews of Let's Talk before I ordered, so I was vigilent in staying in touch via email and taking notes in case I had a problem. I am glad to say, thanks to Nicole, a wonderful Let's Talk employee, all is fine now. I would not hesitate to order again from Let's Talk.

Bad service
My first time ordering from them was smooth but it was more than 2 years ago. This is my second time shopping with them and this was my EXACT LETTER to the [email protected]:

Hi,

I wanted to let you know that I've been very dissatisfied with the order. It was placed approximately on July 11th. It has been 2 weeks already, and I have not received my phones.

The day I placed it, I told the representative (Extension #3101) that my contract with my current provider would end on the 14th and asked her if I could place the order so the porting process could start on the 15th. She said that it was possible and she wrote a note on about it on the order. I did not provide her my driver's license number that day because I did not have it with me, so I asked her if I could give it to her later. She said yes.

On the 14th or 15th, I believe, I called to a representative to provide him the license number. I do not hear anything from LetsTalk until I call back on the 18th and ask for the status of my order, (all the website said is that it was doing the carrier credit check, and I had already received 2 emails from AT&T about the plan). The representative told me that LetsTalk was waiting for my call to tell them when the porting process could get started, I replied that I wanted it to start as of that moment. I never received an email or a call telling me that they needed this, otherwise I would've called on the 15th already.

On the 21st I receive an email about being already an AT&T customer, and I needed to give you some information related to that. I thought that was a waste of time to be on hold for this.

On the 23rd, finally, I received an email telling me that the credit check was complete. I was glad but not for long when on the 24th I received an email telling me that I also needed to do an identity verification. This was my 2nd order from LetsTalk using this email account. I, again, thought this was a waste of time to be holding out my order for this. At the end of the call, the representative tells me that my orders would finally be shipped within 24 hours.

Then, yesterday, on the 24th, I receive an email telling me that some phones are backordered! And no phones are being shipped, until LetsTalk gets his hands on those backordered phones. This is really frustating. This would've probably taken only a day of work on one of those phone stores. I can only hope I'm not already getting charged for AT&T's plan; and I don't think the representative could keep his word about getting charged for only one day from Verizon.

P.S. The call waiting times are too long. (About 15 minutes for each call, with about 5 calls)

[When I received my phones, I called for a pricematch, because obviously after this whole time the prices dropped and they promised me $200 refund, which DID NOT happen. They promise to call you back, and the DO NOT]

One more thing, I NEVER received a reply from them for this letter.

Bad service
I would HIGHLY recommend Lets Talk.com. If you want the same service that you would have in a physical store, don't shop with them. Let's talk is for consumers who do their research for phone services before they buy. Let's talk web site is user friendly and detailed. Additionally, their customer service is good. You may not get consist info from the customer service reps but that's the same experience in regular stores. Do your homework, read the details and review your order which they will email you before they process the order. They are an excellent way to do business. If you need your phone ASAP or need hands on service. This is not the company for you. The rebates are legit but you have to read all the conditions. I will use them in the future. Best company I have dealt with in a long time.
