Bad service
I purchased an LG refrigerator at the Forest Park Home Depot on November 28th and with it was given a delivery date of 19 December.
On 17 December, only two days before the delivery date, I was finally called and told the refrigerator was on back order and they would have to call me in a few days to schedule a new delivery date. They said they "might" be able to move one from another delivery warehouse, and then reschedule.
I went into the Home Depot to complain about the delay, for which I received no apology or offer of compensation for my time, and was there told that it had already been rescheduled for 26 December without consulting my schedule.
I was unavailable that day, so had to reschedule AGAIN, for Dec 31. I was then called on 30 Dec just to be informed that they wished to reschedule the delivery to 6 January. I refused, hung up, went to Home Depot and canceled the purchase.
I had planned to purchase 3 other appliances from that store, but will no longer do so due to the horrible service I received.
The only thing remotely close to an apology I received was an explanation of how backed up the were due to unexpected Black Friday sales. Back-ups on their end are not my problem, but theirs. During this entire process I was bounced from the store, to the delivery service, to LG, and back again.
As a customer, I don't want to hear how poor planning for the holidays, or a deficient shipping program doesn't allow sales to accurately plan deliveries. I want to hear solutions.
Only one person in the entire process tried to take ownership of the issue, and offered an apology. I would like to thank Ed at Home Depot for his Customer Service.

Cracked shelves
I usually don't complain and believe you get what you pay for, but...We bought an expensive LG fridge in October 2009. Only 14 months later and the plastic part of the shelves are cracking. One completely broke apart. I did an online chat with their customer support and the person on the other end was not helpful and ended the session abruptly without answering my questions. When I called LG, their only solution was for me to buy new shelves, at $50+ each. If I have to replace all of the cracked items in my fridge, we are nearing $600. My expensive fridge is getting more and more expensive! I will NEVER buy another LG product. It is not meant to be used, but looked at.

handles are cracked and freezer is full of ice
LG Refrigerator with bottom freezer. We bought this the first year that they came out. This is the worst refrigerator I have ever owned. The first year we owned our LG Refrigerator the handles on the freezer showed signs of cracking and now are cracked all the way through. We literally have to use a spatula to remove (chip) the ice that accumulates on the bottom of the freezer under the freezer drawer. I will go so far as to say that I will never own another LG PRODUCT, that includes phones.

Worst purchase + worst customer service
It's a bottom freezer refrigerator model LBN20518ST. 1 year and 1 months after buying this fridge broke: temperature controls broke and the fridge wouldn't cool. That's when my disastrous customer service experience with LG started.
As directed by LG customer service, spent $300 CAD on service call and replacing main board. The new board was fried in 2 hours after replacement. The problem is known and well documented in the fridge owner reviews even on LG's own website (I wish they had it posted before I bought).
Customer service was deceptive and unprofessional: lied about unreceived faxes, calls they never made, actions they later refused to take. After 2 months of deception and promises they bounced me back to the seller who has nothing to do with the manufacturing/assembly problem. In meantime, I have family of 5 living with Whirpool 3.2 cu ft. that I bought as a temp solution while they kept promising.
Complete lemon!!!
No LG appliances or LG electronics for me EVER!!! STAY AWAY!!!

Faulty control board
I purchased two LG refrigerators from Home Depot for the two houses that we built last year. Both refrigerators quit working within 6 months of usage. The refrigerator has a control board (sometimes called computer board) installed in the back that has a fuse which is actually soldered on the board and is not removable or replaceable. This particular fuse does not last for more than a few months or sometimes it would blow up just days after your warranty expires. Then you have to deal with the repair company who represents LG in the area. The service company that represents LG in our area was found to be rude, inconsiderant, and showed up late on every appointment. The refrigerators were out of service for over 10 days as the new control board had to be ordered from out of town. This would be my last time I would ever buy any LG appliance, the last refrigerator I owned ran for 13 years without a problem before I donated it to a needy family and it is still running fine. LG refrigerators that I purchased did not even run for 6 months before breaking down with a major part replacement. I will be happy to share the photos of the part that goes bad in most cases, it should really be recalled by the company. If you need more info, please email me [email protected]

Product/Customer Sservice
my refrigerator, a LFC23760ST, broke after 6 months and I have been dealing with customer service for almost three weeks to get it replaced. Never buy an LG product. The company won't stand by their products. Customer service gives you the run around and takes forever at responding. The tech came to fix it twice and couldn't fix it. When I called LG to see what the next step was, LG said the tech never sent the paper work in and I would have to wait longer. After the paper work came it had to be reviewed and it would be three to five days before LG would release a new refrigerator to me. When I called a customer service rep. they told me, I should have bought the home depot warranty, if I wanted a new one faster.

Safety Hazard
I Purchased an LG refrigerator (Model LFC25760ST) on July 29, 2006 and recommend that anyone avoid their products.
I just happened to open the door late last night only to discover a nasty burning plastic smell and an unusually hot climate. Everything on the top shelf was warmer than room temperature. I quickly discovered the light panel was melting off the screws holding it in place; brown burn marks on the wire housing and the plastic above the light housing bubbled.
After searching the internet, I discovered at least 80 reports of the exact same problem - some fridges had started on fire. Knowing the potential that this easily could have progressed to a fire while our family was sleeping, I unplugged the fridge.
LG is going to fix it at their cost, but cannot guarantee that it won't happen again and of course, will not replace it with a new fridge or reimburse me for all of my spoiled food. I had to throw out everything not only because I turned it off for safety, but all foods were infused with the smell of the melting plastic.
