Claims Handling
As a contractor, we have several clients that come to us with damages that should be covered under their homeowners policy. Many more times than not, the homeowners insurance company expedites Loss Reports and claim payments in order to get their policyholders back to a normal lifestyle, with the minimum of disruption. Many of the insurance providers genuinely have their policyholders best interest in mind, because this ony serves to retain clientele. Good customer service assures this.
Over the last year, and in the past, while Oklahomans were dealing with the after-effects of the May hailstorms of 2010, many, many insurance providers were inundated with claims. Thousands of claims per insurance company, in fact. It was a tremendous loss. The majority of insurance companies that we, as contractors (disaster response contractors, in fact) have worked with to insure homeowners receive all of the benefits provided under their policies, and to get repairs done as fast as possible to reduce the amount of damages incurred by the insurance industry, have been very eager to assist and complete claims.
However, one company in particular, we have had recurring problems with and as of this date, almost a year after the hailstorms, are still having severe communications and response issues with liberty Mutual on several claim. Paperwork being lost by the adjusters, several adjusters assigned to one claim, and none know what the other has done or is doing. Responses to emails, phone calls and messages left via fax, phone & email go unanswered for MONTHS, not just days or weeks. We are still working on one claim, just to get ALL of the damage incurred covered. Today, after 4 months of calls, email & faxes sent and resent, the AGAIN new adjuster informed me that they have misplace all of the documentation on this claim and that I needed to send him what I had. Including the last adjusters Loss Report.
The lack of quality customer service and obvious disarray in their adminstration of claims is reprehensible.
Choose carefully and wisely before chossing a homeowners policy with any insurance company. Hopefully, as you have found this complaint, you will seek out complainta regarding other insurance before selecting a carrier.

Take your money and go onto the next sucker
Recently I was shopping for auto insurance with the help of my Agent. He stated they could save me from my $250.00 a month payment to $162.74 a month. I was elated to save almost a hundred a month (Times are tuff). I told him let’s do it. I made a down payment of $237.00 on June 3rd 2009 and started my new policy. In July I made a payment, in August when my 2nd payment was due I was out of town helping my dying sister.
When I got home, I called to make a payment but they said I would have to call my agent and do a re-instate since I was one day past due. I called my agent and did the re-instate and made my payment. I wanted to set up on auto pay but when I called they said you will have to go thru your agent to do this.
I called my agent and they were out of the office so I left a message to set on auto pay. When September rolled around I noticed that my payment had not been taken from my account. I called 3 days after the due date again and asked why the payment had not been taken. They said that this was never set up and that I would have to call my agent.
I called and they said that now I could not re-instate the policy because they only allow one late pay per policy written. Agent called and they said there was nothing they could do. I was furious. I still needed car insurance so I had to make another down payment and go with another carrier. So all in all I did not save any money. I had paid $562.48 for 107 days worth of coverage and made a new down payment of $215.00. So total I paid $777.48 in less than 107 days.
Then I received a new statement saying that I still owe them a balance of $91.22 on top of what I paid. I called and made a payment of $20.00 thru the automated system then spoke to cuts service to let them know that I would be paying this out so my account would not to go to collections. They stated today that it will go to collections anyway if not paid by 11/01/09. I again tried to let them know that my husband and I are on a fixed income (I unemployed, husband retired) and having to pay this entire extra due to them not re-instating my policy and because of incompetence that was out of my control.
They have no customer service they take you money and go onto the next sucker. Since my lovely customer service experience that I received today, I will now pay $5.00 a month on the balance of $71.22. Should be paid off in Dec 2010 by my calculations and to think that I could have paid this off in Nov 2009.

Padding insurance policy
I have had my home insurance with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company since I bought my home in 1998. I had increased my insurance one time to meet the true value of my home, but then they padded the insurance and raised the amount about $40, 000 more than my house is worth. They they sent me a waiver form that would allow them to raise the amount greater than the cap that NC places on insurance companies so that they could raise it even higher without limitations. If I didn't agree to this increase, they threatened to cancel my insurance. So I told them to go ahead and cancel it.
I used to have my car insurance with them too, but they did other similar things to me regarding the car insurance so I dropped them some time ago as a result.
Insurance companies are notorious for ripping off their clients. Liberty Mutual is one of the worst ones that I've ever dealt with. They actually told me that the reason they were doing this is because I actually had a file a claim with them and that they didn't want to lose any money on me. In my opinion, this was MY money that they used on the claim. The money that I paid to them to cover this sort of thing and then they had the GALL to tell me that they wanted yet more money from me. In my opinion there is no justification for them to pad the coverage or to ask for more money. They also increased the value of the insurance without asking me if it was okay to do so; if that isn't illegal, it should be.
Insurance companies have way too much leverage and something needs to change in a very big way.

workers comp claim
I was injured at work by a man on meth driving a skytrack, and the safety inspector Jamie Blystone of the company knew of his meth usage and failed to take action due to him being the only person licensed to operate the skytrack. I was knocked off an eighteenwheeler and the bosses refused to record it and controlled the doctor and would not let him give me any prescription because they would have to record the injury. An MRI was done and I had an anular tare and a bulging disk. I lost bowel and bladder control and the bosses just made fun of me and called me names. I was placed on restrictions by the doctor but the bosses kept exceeding them and when I refused to go beyond the restrictions I was told by the bosses that I could kick rocks and just quit or do as they said. I was told by the doctor that I wasn't getting any better because of the failure to obide by the restrictions and I had to make a choice. I had to either do as they wanted or do as the doctor ordered or I was in for a surgery on my back. So I called in work and informed them that I could not work and was fired for doing as the doctor ordered. The safety inspector told the doctor's office that they was paying the bills. Then I received a letter from Liberty Mutual saying that all bills should be sent to them. Now the doctor has odered another MRI of my total spine instead of just the lower back. The doctor also orderd an nerve study test. Now the insurance company refuses to pay me workers comp and refuses to pay or approve an medical treatment. I am stuck in severe pain and no one give a hoot about me. I have no income due to the lack of the insurance company sending any checks. I am told that the saftey inspector Jamie Blystone ordered the insurance company not to pay for anything and the claims adjuster Christine Falco of Missouri isn't! I need help. I have no income and was wrongfully terminated, and discriminated because of my disabilities. Someone please help me in any way possible. My # is 316-993-0341.

Greedy, sneaky, fraudulent giant
Hello,
My name is Randy and on August 6,2004, In Kern County I was involved in a car accident My car was a Ford Fiesta, one of the smallest. I was knocked unconscious. The Police cited the other driver for making an illegal turn. The other driver just happened to carry Liberty Mutual Insurance.
I chose to represent myself in court. As a driver or a passenger, I have never sued anyone.
Hospital, ambulance, doctor and physical therapy bills kept piling up, and Liberty Mutual Insurance, never paid a single dollar of my medical bills thattotaled $12,000.00.
For 2 years I answered all their question such as work, finical, bills etc.Liberty kept dragging out my case; finally I took them to court.
On October 2006, Liberty, obtained my medical records by using a subpoena. Doctors I had never seen, hospitals that had I was never treated at for my car accident, or hospital I had not been to in the past 13 years.
On April 9,2007, I sent a certified letter to Liberty's Attorney and told him that if he continued with his nonsense and fishing trip in my life, I would take my case to the people.
My friend I will give you just a few examples of the questions I was expected to answer: They wanted my banking records, my credit history, safety deposit box information, HIV/ AIDS status, past employers or /and employees, my salary among many other personal questions, yet they wouldn't pay me for my pain and suffering and medical bills.
My friends, the best way to fight a greedy, sneaky, fraudulent giant likes Liberty Mutual, is to let people know how they operate. The Liberty Mutual that I was dealing with was the office in Ontario, California.
