May 18 2008 My wife and I went through this realtor at liberty one. I found him through a co worker. We made contact over the phone and seemed like a nice guy but that was just a front. We are first time home buyers and don't know very much at all about the realty business. So we find a home that we thought was a ok starter home for us.The realtor says we offer financing. I say ok lets do it! We set a date with the seller on this foreclosed home the sellers offer was 4000 for closing and 6000 to put back into the home at a price of 149, 000. We had no complaints with that offer. The realtor keeps telling us that the seller is playing games with us and has not met the contract agreement. My wife and I are asking the realtor whats going on with the house? the realtor says Oh its just a bunch numbers games and re writing an ademdom. A week goes buy and I try to contact my realtor for five days does not answer or return our calls. My wife and I at that point think that he is playing games with us because also he tells us that there is a problem with the financing so he goes with FHA well if he knows what he is doing why didn't he go with FHA to begin with so we stick it out a little longer and the realtor says well the seller wants 2000 dollars added on top of what we gave for earnest deposit he also accepted our first deposit weeks prior. My wife and decide that enough is enough is enough and decide that we don't want his services any more. I made the mistake of telling him tha my boss wants to finance me into buying his home. The realtor then says you owe me and my broker money. I told him it was only a verbal offer. He never gave us a copy of this contract until this time on it says we are locked in for one year plus an added 180 days.
When I signed the 180 day was not put there. What do we do we are expecting a baby in September. Everyone says to see a lawyer but we cant afford one.
