LFF makes it impossible to cancel
I had been a life style family fitness member on and off for the last 5 years there clubs are ok but a bit expensive and they pretty much try to press extra disgussed as "freebies" to you constantly. They charge around $50 month and thats for basic membership.
Recently they have decided not to let members cancel in there clubs anymore if you want to cancel you have to call a phone number thats opened 6 days a week during regular hours that is extremlly busy (or understaffed) as the regular customer service number will not work they just send you off to the number that isn't answered. Your only option is to send 'snail mail' to the corperate office and wait 30 days for it to process (all while they continue to bill your credit card).
In my area (FLORIDA) many new alternates have popped up for less money then the 80's model lifestyle attempts. Snap Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Youfit, YMCA all better deals and they don't play games with your credit cards like lifestyle family fitness.
Please do yourself a favor and don't deal with this company..all they see is dollar signs...they make AOL of 90s cancelations seem easy!
BTW I still have not been able to cancel my account.

Billing Cancellation
I signed up for a month to month agreement so I could cancel when my travel schedule picked up. I notified the front desk I was canceling my month to month membership. The person at the desk entered it in the computer and I walked out. Apparently you need to notify them in writing. So I received a bill in the mail. I marked it cancel and sent it back. I received another and I wrote a note to cancel. Then I received a phone call from one of the rudest people I have ever encountered from a business call. She told me that I had to go back to the club where I signed up and submit in writing that I was canceling and that I owe five months of service????? I explained that I already verbally and in person cancelled my membership.
Her reply: “Did you cancel via certified mail?” Are you kidding me? How many times do I have to cancel???? Certified mail????
I understand their business is lousy...however, how does this lady sleep at night? I feel sorry for her. What an awful job she has...no wonder she is so rude!
I fully recommend never doing business with these people. Fortunately I speak at lot of chamber and community events and I now have a great example of how not to treat customers. I likely would have resumed my membership...but not after reading this page. Often you get some people on here just blowing off steam. When you see this many stories...this many people taking the time to fill this out...cant be wrong!
Stay away...it takes a full time job to cancel.
