The rudest hotel owner I have ever met.
David Wilson made me feel sick. He threatened and then immediately requested that I, my husband and our 8 month old (who I had in my arms) leave his "hotel" . It was 11.30pm on a cold and wet night in Fort William. I was one of 4 adults (same party) who had asked to speak to him about the disappointing meal we had received at the Lime Tree. We wouldn't noramlly request to speak to the owner, however, the young girl who asked if our meal was ok, didn't respond in a normal polite fashion when we said
"it was ok, very over priced".
Her response was to defend the food in a none professional manor and assume we didn't want to pay.
His rant was quite unbelievable whilst we all remained calm. Mr Wilson was not prepared to listen or accept any other view. He obvoiusly gets complaints a lot, as he came into the room with legal documents regarding his legal rights!!!. Remember, we only said the food was poor and there was no mention of us not paying.
This view was also backed by two solicitors that overheard from the room next door. If it wasn't for those two solicitors stepping in, my daughter could have spent most of that night in the car.
I heard a couple complain at breakfast and we ourselves complained about our evening meal. I also over heard a couple talking in the hall, confused about the standard against the price.
In conclusion, Lime Tree's menu is massively over priced and substandard. I recommend that you source alternative restaurants in Fort William.
