I am going to do my best to stick to only facts in this review although it will be very difficult due to my high emotions.
If you are on the net, looking for a vet for your cat you obviously care for the animal. This review is for you people especially!!!
If you truly do care for your animal do not bring them here!!
We left our Best, Best friend "Mooch" with Lincoln Ave. Cat Hospital for a 6 day stay while we went on a vacation.
Normally, we would have friends stay with and feed him, but recently Mooch had not been feeling well.
We had taken him to L.A.C.H for treatment & the place seemed nice. This was most importantly due to the 2 assistants that were helping us. (Tom & Steve)
They were so great to my pal Mooch. They gave him so much love, and they were so gentile with him.
That 1st visit was great.
...Anyway, we had a vacation coming up, and we wanted Mooch to stay there while we were away, because we felt that the guys (Tom & Steve) were so attentive, AND because Mooch hadn't been feeling well.
Since it was a Cat Hospital it should be the perfect place, Right?WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!
As it Turns out, the Dr. is the ONLY DR. THERE!!! There is NO OTHER BACK-UP.
If he, for whatever reason Can't or Won't get to the Place, there is no other back-up Dr. to treat your animal.
On the last day before we got home Mooch had gotten real sick.
The Dr. was "out-of-the-country" (Which I was not told)
The office staff in they're Brilliance decided not to bring him to anyother vet for treatment. They just called my cell phone which was turned off because I was on the plane & left a message saying that "Mooch needs to go to the Emergency Room."
If they had 1 shred of brain matter, they would have looked at the boarding form that I had to sign when I dropped Mooch off.
It had a emergency contact phone number on it that would have put them in contact with someone otherthan my voicemail.
7 hours later, sitting in a plane on the tarmac at Newark Airport, I got the message.
I immediately called, and spoke to the office staff.
Actually, Spoke is a nice word for it, I "convinced" them to take Mooch to wherever he needed to go.
You See, even though I had already signed a form that stated My authorization for medical treatment, they wouldn't take Mooch to get help until they spoke to someone.
I reached Oradell Animal Hospital about 20 minutes after they got Mooch there. He was barley alive. He had held on long enough for us to get home. We were able to say Goodbye, Thank him for all he has been to us, and also were able to be there with him when he died.
My anger is because we trusted this place with our friends life, and you know the rest.
This is what to take away from my experience;
I trusted Lincoln Ave. Cat Hospital to take care of my buddy for me while I was away, THEY DID NOT.
And I MUST SAY AGAIN, I had signed all Papers that would have allowed medical treatment.
If anyone wants to know details or hear real rage about this place feel free to email me.
