I sent in 23 items comprised of silver and GOLD plus one platinum ring setting to Lipponcott. I was shocked when I received a check for aprox. $2.00! I had requested their company send me a quote before doing anything which they did not do. When I received the check from them, I called them and told them I had gold and platinum in the kit and they denied any gold or platinum. I then sent the whopping check for a little over $2.00 back to them and told them to return my items. On 5-26-2009, I received a box from Lippincott with only the silver items enclosed!
Basically, they kept all of my gold and platinum piece which is an estimate value of over $1000.00! I sent these items to this company to see just how honest they are and if consumers are being ripped off! As you can see, I got my answer!
I am a consumer investigator and advocate and I will expose this Company's deceitful practices. I write for several large publications, under a pen name, and I plan to go very public with this fraud, including the filling of a class action suit with any consumer who has been ripped off.
I have tried to contact this company but to no avail! You cannot speak to anyone directly after you have been sent your valueless items back. If you leave a message, your call is never returned.
Please be aware of these rip-off scams! If you have jewelry to sale, do so through a local company where you still have your items in your possession! This is true for any scrap as well.
