I have had a little giant sump pump from franklin electric, installed at my poolside cabana. This was needed because my septic system is uphill from the cabana. The cabana was not heavily used, thus the sump pump was not heavily used. It began to trip my gfi circuit early in it's life, the first week. Not sure what was going, we just re-set the gfi and hoped it was something that would clear itself. Over time, the gfi tripped more and more often, until one could not plug in the sump pump without immediately tripping the gfi. We did not know if we had an electrical problem or sump pump problem, but the help of a good plumber and good electrician we isolated the issue to the sump pump. As this sump pump was so lightly used, I though it reasonable for franklin electric to stand behind it. Of course they did not, and were arrogant in their responses. The pump had a one year warranty, we were in year 2. I heard, through my plumber, and via his suppliers at his parts house, that this response was normal in both results and attitude from this manufacturer. They had many "young" failures of little giant sump pumps and this was the expected response. So I will never buy another product from them, and I wanted to share my experience with whomever might run across this experience.
