My wife and our four small children relocated for new jobs. We offered on a home owned by Litton. There were rediculous constraints we had to agree to in order for Litton to ratify the contract such as accept all risk of repairs from inspection results and submitting of cashiers chek in the thousands up front before the inspection. I agreed to all rediculous requirements and it still took several weeks for Litton to return a ratified contract. During this time, my kids started school so we booked a small room in a local bed and breakfast. On 10-15-2010 we were due to close and just a few days before Litton informed my title company they are on hold and closing must be delayed. My family has been holed up in the small BnB for two months now and Litton still has not provided details on how much time they need for extending the closing. I agreed to extend two weeks but I still have not been given any info from Litton on whether they can make it or need more time. They will not even explain why they could not close on the property. I do not know what to do with my family now and the way the market is if I were to purchase another home, it mostlikely will be in another town and school district. I haven't received my cashiers check back yet and Litton continues to fail to respond or communicate what is going on.
I suppose this has something to do with the current administration coming to the rescue of all the irresponsible freeloaders who failed to pay their mortgage payments, now good people (real victums) like my family are being hurt. This is exactly the admin's policy -- to strike at the capable and responsible people of society and give free handouts to the foolish and irresponsible. Real nice!
