Buyer beware
BUYER BEWARE! Extremely poor customer service-- In less than 6 months, I have requested 3 refunds due to merchants being promoted on this site that either go out of business before you can use your 'deal' or merchants who refuse to honor your purchased 'deal'. The first refund was for a deal with a deli in Knoxville, TN called 'Webster's Deli'. This deli went out of business within 2 weeks of me purchasing my Social Living deal with them. In this instance, I contacted Social Living and was issued a refund right away via my original credit card transaction. The second and third refund was for 2 house cleaning deals with 'Worldwide Domestic Services'. I purchased the deals in August, 2010 and tried no fewer than 10 times over a 3-month period to contact the merchant to set up an appointment to have my home cleaned. I finally gave up after Thanksgiving and contacted Social Living for a refund. I was told by a robotic customer care manager that, because I had waited more than 90 days to request a refund, then I would have to wait up to 3 WEEKS for my refund via a paper check!! He also told me that they are not required to disclose this delay in refunds after 90 days to their consumers. The manager ended up hanging up on me and when I called back I was told that it was a 'phone glitch'. Really

Horrible service
Horrible. There is no order confirmation. period. It is a total scam and I believe they just try to resell your credit card/email address to make money. I had to report a lost credit card to control the damage. Watch out!!

Worst customer service
In August, I found out that my LivingSocial deal could not be used the way it was described. I contacted customer service, and was told that the business would honor the coupon as I described, but I could get a refund if I wanted. When I called the business again, and they confirmed they would not honor it, so I officially requested a refund on 10/19/10. Since then (it is January 30, 2011), I have received NO response from customer service. I have officially requested this refund 6 times now. NOTHING.

I also have submitted two inquiries about accessing my account. Currently, although I have had an account for over a year, the site will not let me log in through the main page. It is only giving me the option of logging in through Facebook. I shut my facebook account down months ago. Again, two requests for help, NO response. The WORST customer service I have experienced in a long time. I will stick with Groupon from here on out.

Not so good for businesses
They pressure businesses to sell their product or service for less than 50% off their regular rate, then take 50% of that. Be prepared to experience a loss per customer. This was the absolute worst marketing decision I have ever made for my small business, especially since overly entitled customers are now writing negative reviews because they can't get what they want right when they need it! The quality of the customers has not been what we are used to either--a lot of these people "coupon hop" and are just looking for the cheapest deal.

I think a lot of people that buy these coupons either don't realize how much of a loss businesses are taking on these, or they don't care.

Terrible customer service
This company has horrible customer service!

I wanted to see a final price on a trip prior to making my decision, and instead of showing me a final price or even asking if I was certain I wanted to purchase the $700+ trip for two to Cancun, the website charged the $727 to my credit card THEY KEPT ON FILE automatically. I cancelled the purchase immediately, but when i called the company but my card was instantaneously charged the money. When I called them to see if they would assist me in communicating with my bank, sending a fax to them letting them know the funds will not be collected so the bank will release them back to my account, they told me they absolutely do not communicate with banks via fax or phone. When I asked to speak to a supervisor to try and resolve the issue, the woman on the phone placed me on hold, but when the same woman came back on the phone she told me she confirmed with her supervisor that there was nothing they are willing to do.

She advised me to have the bank call them, and that I should perhaps be mroe careful with my purchases.

Terrible customer service, and absolutely no effort to assist me in resolving the problem. I will never use this company again and strongly suggest finding another coupon website that values their customers as people intead of numbers.

Do not use LivingSocial.com
I purchased two Fandango movie tickets because they were running a special for 2 tickets for $9. I also got $5 deal buck credit for creating an account. Well I was not charged four dollars and I made sure to apply it to my order. I saw four dollars as my grand total. Well I just checked and they charged me the full damn amount completely forgetting about my deal bucks I guess. Whooops! And to top it all off, I still have not gotten the effing movie tickets when they told me that I would get them within 48 hours. I will not be using LivingSocial again and I will tell as many people as I can about my experience and I hope they go down.

Horrible Customer Service
Livingsocial.com has poor company integrity. Unlike groupon, who guarantees 100% customer satisfaction, Livingsocial.com does not even know about the service they recommend. We bought 2 one-hour long massages from a Raleigh Chiropractic company. These massages were horrible. The appointments were running 45 minutes late. The room was unprofessional, with the masseuse not changing the sheet in between clients. The masseuse talked our ears off about how his hands were soar from doing livingsocial.com massages back-to-back all week. He barely massages us and it only last for 20 minutes, while we paid for a one-hour chiropractic massage.

Worst of all, we sent a customer service complaint to livingsocial.com and they have yet to respond after 3 days. To add insult to injury, livingsocial.com posted this same chiropractic company special several weeks later! I will never use livingsocial again because they do not investigate the integrity and quality of the specials that they offer. This public complaint is a result of no response from their customer service department.

False Representation
LivingSocial "deals" are not deals at all. Pat attention to the fine print! Don't get fooled like I did. Avoid these scammers at all costs!

Here's the email I sent LivingSocial explaining my frustration:

I should have known there would endless fine print and strings attached to the deals you offer. I have made my first and absolute last purchase using LivingSocial.

I’m not sure how LivingSocial has survived without being labeled a scam. I purchased hotel reservations for $295 which included three nights stay in Orlando and two nights stay in Daytona Beach. After confirming my reservations, an additional $15 per night “reservation fee” was attached to my package. A $59/night bargain suddenly became $74/night. I keep asking myself why I didn’t cancel the entire deal as soon as they additional fee was mentioned.

I was asked if I wanted to receive discount tickets to area Orlando attractions if I would participate in a 90 minute sales pitch. I have no interest in a 90 minute waste of time, so I refused. Apparently it doesn’t matter whether or not you refuse; fine print on the reservation confirmation states the 90 minute presentation is mandatory.

My trip is scheduled June 21-26. If I could, I would cancel immediately and save myself the grief. The only problem is I know somewhere in the fine print there surely must be a cancellation fee.

Your so called “deals” sucked me in once, shame on you. Rest assured I will not be fooled a second time.

Stay away
Here is a copy of the email I just sent Livingsocial.com, it explains it all:

Hi, I purchased 2 of the $49 vouchers for the Rose arts healing center massages and I am extremely disappointed. This is the very 1st thing I have purchased from your site, You advertised it to be:

A one-hour massage, a detox Cellu-tone aromatherapy Cocoon Wrap, and a gift of bath salts from RoseSprings Center for the Healing Arts for just $49 (regularly $115). You'll be leaving your dear mother in good hands at this Hillsboro healing hub, where a licensed massage therapist will dissolve her knots with a variety of relaxation techniques. Afterward, she'll be enveloped in a detoxifying, firming wrap.

It in fact was a 1 hour aromatherapy massage not 2 separate services like it was described. To be honest with you the services were very very disappointing and the actual massage time was less than 30 min. for each of us because we laid there with wrapped most of the time. Because of the way you worded your ad, we were under the impression it was 3 different separate things we paid for and it was only 2. We drove 1 hour to this place thinking we got a deal and it actually costs us more than what we would pay for this near our home. We feel like we were ripped off, it was misrepresented and would like at least one of them refunded on my account. Here is the information for each vouncher:

Stay away from these crooks
I just got a call from Visa Fraud Dept on the same card (it's not used for every day transactions either), saying that and online purchase was attempted this morning at Bed, Bath & Beyond & there's an approved pending amount of $1 on my account. Of course I will not know the full amount that charges until it hits my actual bank, then I can dispute it, and they will refund it, but still this is a hassle. I'm more than anything believing this is linked to when I bought the Amazon gift card from Living Social. I didn't have a good feeling about it, as I'd never heard of that company, but still did it. Now...the hassle. Ugh! Just letting you know...watch your bank statements in case the Fraud folks at your bank don't see it.
