Unhealthy Bulldogs
We purchased our English Bulldog 9/14/2007 after talking with Melodie numerous times via the phone, we made the purchase. Rocky arrived and seemed to be in good health. 3 weeks after he arrived he developed a bad respiratory infection and ended up on antibiotics. Rocky immediately was a timid dog, nervous, and scared of water, noises. Over the next year we continued to work with Rocky but his temperament slowly grew worse, he became aggressive the older he got. He did not like other dogs and was on edge often. We invested in Vet's bills and dog classes and trainers to address his aggressive behavior and it did not change for the better. In addition I did notice when we first received Rocky he had a tattoo on his belly, so when I did ask about it Melodie response was that it will rub off and that is how she could tell the dogs apart, only after we received his paperwork about a month later did we find out he was from Russia. We had been under the impression from Melodie and her website that these bullies had been raised with her family and breed their. I now know that Rocky was part of a puppy mill, pulled from his mother to early and was not handled properly. This is dangerous for ANY dog let alone a very strong bully. We recently had to have are beloved Rocky put to sleep, due to his aggressive behavior and possible inbreeding which could have resulted in a tumor in his brain. We have invested time, emotions and money in our dog and to find out that this breeder was importing these poor pups make me very angry. Rocky will always be loved and missed and I hope this breeder is stopped so they can NEVER do this to another family. This is for all the Rocky's out there.
