I contacted this person selling a 17' Logic boat ($3500.00) and arranged to go down 1 hour to Cape May County to see it. The person arranged for his dad to show the boat, but his dad didn't know much about it. It was a nice boat, but it was difficult to buy it without having it run since it was over 10 years old. However, the person selling the boat, Mike, was taking others out on test runs that week. Since I am an administrator at a public school, I couldn't get out until Friday to go down and see the boat. Mike said that he wanted me to make an offer and wanted to know how serious I was. I offered him $3200.00 on Tuesday, but wanted to go down and said that full price is not out of the question. I then was told that I was #2 on the list and I really need a boat to conduct research this spring as my current boat is shot. I then e-mailed and called to make a full offer since I was the first to see the boat without even seeing it run. Mike said to call him back on Thursday evening to see what he decided. He then e-mailed me Thursday night to say he sold it to someone else. I know it is my problem, but I offered a deposit, I feel that this may not be Craigslist scam, but it is about not trustung who is selling products and I am reluctant to use Craigslist to try to purchase anything else.
