"Lollie's" in Sparta, IL had a quite good breakfast, but when we mentioned we might eat at "Marcello's" in Chester, IL that evening, our waiter told us right away that Marcello's was terrible and he wouldn't ever eat there. I know from experience that Marcello's is one of the very best. Everything in Marcello's is scratch-made and fresh, not semi-prepared products from from cans. I know something about who uses what groceries in the area and while Lollie's food is acceptable, they have no grounds to make such an idiotic claim against Marcello's. I guess they thought I was some kind of ignorant bumpkin. How could this person even say such a thing to a stranger and a guest in their establishment? I didn't know what to say to this obtuse person. Sorry to rant but that was extremely unprofessional and a plain lie and I found it insulting. There is never an excuse for badmouthing a respectable competitor.
