I contacted this breeder that was advertising on puppyfind.com regarding a well bred sheltie female going by the call name of Tressa. She was a gorgeous biblack female that had some of my greatly missed biblack sheltie male's lineage in hers. I let this lady know what her dog meant to me and that there was a definite purchase of her. I let her know that I lived in VA and that I would be picking up the dog but I had to figure when since I have a litter of my own for sale and that 4 of the 7 were being picked up over the next week or two and I would have to move around their date of pick up. I let her know since this wasn't a forethought purchase that it would take up to two days to arrange her deposit and that I would call her when it was going into the mail so she could look for it. She said she was going to be gone between the llth and the 18th of October so I knew I wouldn't be able to pick Tressa up until after then. I had mentioned that I had shelties in Canada and all over half of the US and that if she wanted references from me that I would be glad to give them to her. I asked her to bear with me on the deposit that it would arrive after Columbus Day. I told her the first deposit would be small but after some of my puppies were picked up I would mail her the rest so she would be paid up when I picked Tressa up. The deposit was going to be the usual $100 which is standard. She asked me if I could send half up front (full price was $675) and I told her by next week I would be sending the balance. She never said no I want more or I'll sell the dogto someone else. I talked to her on 10-6-2010 initially and as I said to her on that day I would send the deposit within two days.

I called today which is now Oct 8th to let her know the money was going into the mail and she tells me that her "husband" sold the dog last night (10-7-2010). I said so in other words if I would have mailed the deposit yesterday, he would have sold the dog before my deposit would have gotten there. I don't do business that way and I certainly wouldn't want a client to have been treated that way by me. What happened to verbal agreements before the written agreement finalizes the transaction? Where was the golden rule in this transaction.? Why didn't they notify me of what they did? What was she expecting me to do living in VA? Go through hoops and drive immediately after our phone conversation? I was so happy to find this beautiful little girl and Lori Gore and her husband burst my bubble and balloon on good faith. I bought a newfoundland puppy in IN and it took a couple of days for the deposit then mail the check to get it there. She didn't sell the dog out from underneath me like Lori Gore did. Please do not associate with people that would double cross someone when you are acting in good faith and by all means let them know and their peers know when they do.
