SO i received a bunch of tickets when I just bought my car because i dint have front plates(previous owner was looking for it). I Had a total of 11 tickets 7 of which were for this and the other 4 were for registration(all tickets within 2 months in front of my house betwwen the hrs of 1 and 5 AM ). I fixed both issues and requested the 2 docs that are needed to fill out and send back with a check and proof that i have fixed this. So i did just that made 2 checks 1 for 40 and 1 for 70 (ten per fix it ticket). Today I received a letter saying i had a ticket so i went online to pay it and noticed that I had a outstanding balance of 346 dollars, this almost gave me a heart attack. I called and explaind that i had paid them already they did show that i called and requested the forms and CLAIM that they only received the check for 40(how convenient) and i told them the truth the rude woman on the phone took me as a joke! her and her supervisor said that not only could i not go to court that theres also no way for me to contest or appeal this. Now im stuck having to pay 346 dollars that i cant even come close to affording and I did everything right and paid everything on time!!! how does this system work i send a check the claim i didnt and now i owe them 4 times the money? also a month ago i changed my insurance policy and the stupid dmv employees only cancelled my old one and didnt reinstate my new one(i had 2 for the span of 24 days just to keep this from happening) so my licensce was suspended the same day it was suspended at 1am!!! so it was only suspended for a hour i got pulled over and my car towed for 30 days!!! after days of complaining missing work going to court and hiring an attorney all 3 paarties(dmv, insurance, police) agreed that i was screwed over and none gave me money back. It cost me 900 to get my car back from the tow company, i missed work for court and rented a car over 2000 cost due to another dmv mistake, this should all be illegal i wish i could afford to sue!!!
im a 23 yr old student i live alone and work full time I cant afford this...its a shame that we as citizens can be screwed with and have no protection.
