Poor Quality of Products
I purchased a complete kitchen of Whirlpool and Samsung products from Lowe's 13 months ago. 50% of the items have failed and broken already. The Whirlpool range was still in warranty, but the Samsung microwave was not. These were not the cheap ones, they were the items that Lowe's recommended for me. The quality of the products that they offer is extremely poor, and anyone purchasing there should be aware that they would be better off buying a cheap Chinese knock-off at a flea market. I personally will not shop at Lowes again, and I would not recommend that anyone else support this company that offers low quality at high prices.

poor management and customer service
I have a problem with this lowe's on west colonial. They are not professional people, I must admit there are a couple there but not many. You can never get any help on the sales floor. The management sucks after there was no help in the department i was in I went to the front to get someone to help me. The young lady got me an manager and she was not any help at all she had no knowledge and seemed to be very confrused. Again this was a manager she was very breif and short with helping me which really didn't help at all. But as I left out the door I looked around and saw alot of red vest satnding around the front door talking and laughing with the manager. There were two cashiers working with lines long. But we had about 5-6 people at the door talking. This is why I hate coming in lowe's poor customer service. I must say out of the whole lowe's store there are two young ladies that always stand out with great customer service is Taniesha and Sara. When they are not there I don't like going there. Two of lowe's best assets, very nice ladies wish everyone was like them.

Project Department
I purchased a fence through Lowe's & having a contractor install it. When fence was delivered there was mold growing on it & a lot of broken pieces too. Also was told they would replace it that day or following day then was notified won't be till later in the week & they also changed the date that was going to be installed & I never was notified. I feel that the customer service was very poor & the amount of $$ I am putting out for this fence.. it should be in really good condition esp. at almost 5, 000 dollars. See attached Pictures.

abusive to subcontractors
Lowe's treatment of contractors who subcontract service and installation from Lowe's is abominable. These contractors provide services that Lowe's employees are not capable of providing due to lack of training and they turn significant profit for Lowe's HIW Inc.

The contractors are rewarded for this by being forced to satisfy middle managers who have no training in the task at hand, but clearly have been threatened to drive up profit margins or receive consequences. Lowe's managers make every concession to please the customer and pass the costs onto the contractor. These concessions aren't made because the customer was 'right', rather because the manager has minimal experience with the service or installation job in dispute and no idea how to troubleshoot the problem. The contractor is forced to pay or lose details (aka jobs). Losing these details usually means downsizing the company or taking a staggering pay cut, so the contractor obliges and takes a loss. These losses are heart wrenching when you're talking about a small company that's barely staying above water in difficult economic times.

I live 0.5 miles from a Lowe's store and I consider it a last resort for my home improvement needs because the situation outlined above sickens me. It's criminal to siphon money from small contractors rather than properly mediating a dispute. I've seen the stock market and it's quite clear to me that Lowe's has the resources to mediate these disputes, but it's cheap, fast, and quickly shuts up the complaining customer if you just take money out of the laborers' pockets and hand it back to the customer.

I am one person and I can't change Lowe's, but there are a few things I can do. First, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS tell me friends, family, and neighbors who want quality services and installation to purchase directly from small stores and contractors. Stores like Lowe's depend on squeezing the middle man to make a buck, not high quality work, word of mouth, or repeat customers. Second, REFER THE HUSTLERS TO LOWES, if someone wants work done around their house and quality is less important than getting $500 knocked off the estimate because the contractor was 10 minutes late, then Lowe's is where they should be. I hate to see decent tradesmen deal with stupidity like that and Lowe's has teams of barely trained employees who can handle those phone calls. Third, POST THIS ON THE INTERNET, it won't do much because there's already plenty of bad press out there for Lowes. However, Lowe's has already shown us that they have no conscience or ethics, so I guess bad press is my only tool for motivation.

Really! What kind of people do they hire at Lowe's. I thought Lowe's was a place of business. Not a game show! I went to the Customer Service Desk to ask where something was. She directed me, so I thought! So, when I repeated the directions, she replied with a "Ding! Ding! Ding!". I lost all respect with Lowe's, because the so called Customer Service girl and I mean "Girl" and not an adult. I think her name started with a "K". I'm going into a place of bussiness not into a pre-school. I want to be treated with repect not a game show contestant! I'm not treated like that even at Toys R us! They will NEVER SEE ME IN THAT STORE AGAIN!!!

SEASONAL - STUDENTS ARE HIRED BACK & STEALING REGULAR PART -TIMERS HOURS
I work at Lowe's all year round. I help them out when they are in a bind with call off's. I have been with Lowe's for 8 years. I had to work two jobs to make ends meet. Now, when I got laid off from my full time job and Lowe's business has been down, they still hire back the seasonal - students. These seasonal - students DO NOT have a mortgage, car, utilities and food or any others bills to pay. They still live with their parents! It is just play money for most of them! The meager hourly pay and unemployment does not cut it, when it come to my bills . I'm trying to keep a roof over my head. Apparently, Lowe's DO NOT care for their regular part - time loyal employee's. I did not start yesterday! Apparently, being there 8 years does not even matter to them!! They DO NOT CARE if you loose you house! Even Target did not hire some of their seasonal - students back! If you can not afford to pay your regular employee's, you do not hire the seasonal -students back. That's why you hired them as "Seasonal". Lowe's has no heart for their regular part-time employees!!! Lowe's only really need the seasonal-students in the summer, because that is when they make their money! Is Lowe's really that STUPID???

Lowe's does not pay its sub contractors I have been with them for many years and can not get paid for alot of the work we have done although we have the best coudtomer scores in the area be carefull Lowe's is not your partner like they say they will cheat you oput of every dime use you and then replace you

Stay away
I came in to purchase a portable closet and a can of air for my computer. When I walked in, I was greeted at the door by the doorman, and then proceeded to make my purchases. Within the first minutes of walking around, I found myself lost, so I asked directions from one of the nearby employees. They were chatting and hadnt noticed my request for directions for almost a minute. And after I received directions to the portable closets, I had noticed that there were none in stock. So as Im making my way to the front of the store, there I see the portable closets aisles away from where I was directed to go.

After I picked that up, I went and asked another employee where I could find a can of air at. And we walked around the store asking 5 different employees where it was. And none of them knew where to find it. When we asked another one, he knew where it was, and directed us to it. When we got in the aisle, there were two gentlemen working on stocking up items. When she asked where the cans of air were, they jokingly told her it was in the next aisle over. When she has told them it was for me and they saw me, they immediately told her where in the aisle it was.
