I had received an email to try a teeth whitening produce for "free". It cost $4.99 for shipping, which also was a rip off because if was a tube that weighed nothing. I was online checking my bank account this morning and found that they had debited my account for $88.97, without permission or authorization from me. This has to be a major scam, also the product sample was for one treatment, which tasted horrendous. I have tried to call their toll free number, 18663601477, but you cannot get anyone to talk with in person, it is all recordings, I then proceeded to email them.

I also found that there are several complaints against them when I went online to pull up their information.

I return 3 unopened packages and they are only willing to reimburse me for one refill. I sent the package via USPS first class and cetified so I have the name and signature of the employee who signed for and received the package. His name is Jason Sparks and they received the package of 2/12/09. They emailed me on 2/16/09 to inform me that they were refunding only $88.97, that is the cost of one refill. I immediately replyed and told them that they owed me twice that amount as returned all of the product to them. I also informed them that I had filed complaints with you the Glendale BBB and the state of California. I will send them another email requesting my money back but I believe that they will ignor it, as they have fall to address my email of 2/16/09.
How should I proceed?

This company offers a sample for the price of postage, then requires a person to check the terms and conditions which require searching for a double asterisk and looking at another page. If you assume that there will be no problem with the terms and conditions, you are wrong. They require you to accept additional shipments at $88 and cancel within 20 days to avoid charges for them. I didn't find the charges for two months, but the company will not return the two charges of $88.

It should be illegal to charge people this way. They should not be charged for doing nothing and not specifically ordering new shipments. There should be no automatic ordering of new merchandise when a sample is sent for. So yes, you must read the terms and conditions.

I am writing this email to make an official complaint. I accepted the free trial offer for the whitening trial offer. I have made numerous attempts to contact LuminousBrites company by telephone to cancel prior to the ending of the trial period to avoid future receipt of the product. However, I have been placed on hold for over 15 minutes with no answer or the calls were disconnected. I have been unable to contact a representative of the LuminousBrites company.

I am outraged that my account has been billed $88.97 for a product I have been trying to discontinue. The business practices of LuminousBrites are deplorable and I demand that billing of my account stop along with delivery of the whitening product.

I have written a letter to the company as well. If there is no response, I will contact my attorney and the Better Business Bureau regarding these practices.
