To Anyone That Cares, If Anyone Cares,
I have been working for the company since 2005, I started as an eye wear consultant and was promoted to eye care supervisor in 2006. My location has been through poor managment since I've been there. My first GM quit with fear of being fired, the previous ECS was fired, and needless to say the RM and Sales Supervisior shortly quit after. My first MOD stepped down and we were with out management except for me and a new girl who turned out to be a RM. Then we finally got a new MOD and then she quit almost a year later. I had to find coverage of doctors until we got a new MOD, and we now have had the same MOD since 2008. We have been through 7 GM's on the retail side. Our place is a mess. I was recently pregnant, and I was told that my restroom breaks count towards my 15 min. breaks which I felt was soooo wrong, especially since I was 8 mo. pregnant and since we never really get our breaks any ways. I had referred to the hand book and she was wrong. We still really do not get our breaks. I already came back from maternity leave and we have a new GM and the same OMD and a new RM, but everytime I ask for a 15 min. break, most of the time they tell me to take my lunch first, and then I never get my break after that. I'm getting sick of asking and them pretty much telling me no most of the time. I also realized that before my maternity leave it had seemed like the GM at the time (which was the same GM that had said that my restroom breaks counted towards my 15 min. breaks) was trying to have me fired, she always trying to write me up along with the OMD for things that she should have been written up for. When I got back from my maternity leave the OMD had admitted that it seemed like that was what they were trying to do.
Now don't get me wrong I love my job, and helping people, nothing makes me happier, I just wish that all of the hard work that we do gets appreciated. And that we had management that gave a crap and tried to give us our breaks without giving us attitudes when we ask. I just recently stepped down from my ECS position since my GM had suggested it since before my maternity leave. He had earlier the day the I had decided to step down, talk to me about a list of complaints from other associates and himself as well and had ask me how I thought things were going and I had said that their was no communication between us, that him and the other managment would hold meetings and never fill me in on whats going on, what I could improve on, nothing, he waits for a month later to tell me all the complaints. Then I had asked him again "Honestly, do you feel I should step down from the ECS position?" and he told me "No, but honestly I feel like I can't trust you!" to me hence forth is the reason we do not have communitcation how can you communicat with someone you do not trust. This is how I came with the conclusion to step down. I realized they were going to continue to find things to write me up about until the fired me.
All I know is that I will always try to do my very best, and ignore the rest. I have helped so very many patients and customers through out these's years and every single one of them remember me, and I them, and of all the things that could go wrong as long as I make them happy and I know that they appreciate me that is all that matters.
