I called FTC and BBB and AGO to register a complaint. If more of us will do that, they will put pressure on M-Tech and we can all get our money back.
This is what happened to me:
In June/2006 I contacted M-Tech to purchase a high end laptop D9K. Everything was fine during the transaction and everyone was very friendly. As soon as I received the laptop, I tried to start it up and minutes after it became obvious that it was not what I paid for and that it also had a fatal problem. I have contacted them to ask for my money back and they said that I have to pay a 15% restocking fee. Not wanting to lose money, I made use of the warranty service the first day I received the laptop. They fixed it and replaced the wrong hardware with the correct hardware, which was partially defective (dead pixels) - and soon after that, it broke again. They fixed it and then three months after that it broke again. At this point they said that my warranty expired with them and I have to call Phillips (which was not true since my first year didn’t end). Phillips is the company with whom I have the extended warranty plan. I send it out to Phillips after I told them what my problem was and when I received it back I noticed that the computer has not been fixed at all. At this point I sent it back to M-Tech which directed it to one of its partners to fix it. Now everybody is placing blame on everyone else and nobody is fixing my computer or refunding my money. It has been 2 months since my laptop broke the last time and since then it was used as a ping pong ball between M-Tech and its partners. Basically after I paid M-Tech, they pretty much washed their hands of this laptop and did less than little to ensure basic customer service and quality of their product. Over this past year they had my computer a total of 4 months for repair, situation which greatly impeded my work and amplified my stress. I finally had it and I asked for my money back because of their less than bad product and service and they keep telling me over email and over the telephone that they will fix it in order for me to sell it on eBay. I can not do that to another human being. I bought this machine to improve my studying and further my knowledge and instead it brought me a lot of pain and suffering. What I want from them is my money back and nothing more or less.
I hope that nobody else will make the same mistake .
