Macys Reviews

Poor attitude
Having been a satisfied customer of Macys at South Park, Charlotte since it opened its doors my sister and I were disappointed today Thursday 14th of October at 6.20pm regarding a sales person on the perfume counter. The young woman in question had a bad attitude and was not at all a credit to the store. She looked as though she should have been somewhere else, certainley not serving the public.A smile from the woman or a thank you for spending x ammounts of $ on perfume would have been more like it.

Not good enough for a store such as Macys.

Jewelry fraud
The article is about a lawsuit filed against Macys, alleging that Macys knowingly sold ruby jewelry as genuine gemstones when in fact they were not genuine rubies. Macys was required to inform customers about how the rubies were created but in many cases failed to do so, duping many customers into purchasing jewelry that did not meet gemological standards or were defective. Macys denied any wrongdoing and continued to sell the products. This shows you what they really think of your intelligence.

Messup that I paid for
Macy's recently sent an email to me thanking me for my payment. Two days later I received another email that the first email was a mixup. I promptly paid my bill (2 days late by now due to their initial error that confirmed I had paid - I usually pay online so figured I scheduled it and didn't write down my confirmation). Now they are billing me a 39.00 late fee even though I have talked to 2 agents and supervisor. They provide the worst service ever and I am making it my mission to share

Scam
Hi Everybody!!

I used to be a regular customer at Macy's until last week. I am a student, and had an upcoming job interview. I had the 20% off coupons from Macys that were to to me by mail, and had clear instructions that stated that these coupons can be used on sale and clearance items. The exclusions were few brands like Armani, Louis Vitton, but the card did not explicitly mention that the savings coupon did not cover Anne Klein. I spent an hour trying out the suit skirts, and when I finally arrived at the billing section, the sales person told me there was something wrong. She was not able to apply the discount to my purchase. She could not also tell me the reason why it failed. She told me it was supposed to work, but somehow could not be applied. When I came home, I tried applying the same coupon for the same suit skirt purchase online at Macys.com, and it worked!! The coupon was meant to be used both in store and online, but somehow did not work in store.

When I sent numerous emails asking for clarification, the hopeless customer service did not respond.

I could have purchased the item, but chose not to because what Macy's did was clearly questionable and not ethical. They were trying to lure customers by their coupons, and once a shopper spends her time there looking for a right product, they are confident that chances of people returning them just because their coupons won't work is negligible.

They should be ashamed for the level of service and their denial of what is assured. For the first time, I ventured out in New York city looking for better places to shop. Macy's used to be the only store I had visited, and now thanks to Macy's, I found Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdales. Finally I purchased a very decent Anne Klein suit from Lord & Taylor, for 100$ (it was on sale!!) and saved more than a 100$ than what I would have if had I shopped in Macy's.

Thanks Macy's because you suck and thanks for opening my eyes to other places to shop at!! You have lost one customer for life, and many of my friends. Believe me, if you think you can lose one customer, be ready to lose another 10 to your competitors.

Credit Card
Get this!!! Macy's is rip off and we need to spread the word. I have had a credit card with them for about 9 years now and i have always paid on time. I only got a revolver account because I worked for them at one time and they gave it to me. I recently just started slipping on payments about 1-3 days late past the due date. So first off I get calls one day after the due date harrassing me that I am late, on a 5 dollar minimum payment are you serious!!! they must be hurting for money. And on top of that they are calling to notify me that there is going to be a 30 dollar late fee on top of the 5 dollars!!! are you kidding me thats like 6 times the mimimum amount due!!! this has got to be a joke, talk about bad customer relations and taking advantage of a customer. Give them at least a few days lead way!!! I am paying off my card and cutting it up..no more MACYS for me!

credit cards
Take responsibility for yourself. When you sign for a credit card, all details are available. There is no bill and the company you're purchasing from is not obligated to send you a "bill." You make the purchase, be aware you owe on it in the next bill period. If you don't make the payment, whether they send you a statement or not, you are late. You can save your receipts and calculate your own payment, go to the store and enquire, or call the company. If they give you a store account and a major credit card account, you need to be aware of the two different account numbers, and where and what your are charging on them. Don't moan and groan and accuse company's of cheating you when you blithely ignore understanding the details of your credit accounts, borrow money by using them, and then fail to make proper payments. Grow up and take responsibility for your own actions!

Card Holders receive benefits next to nothing
They say that members (macys card holders) recieve special discount coupons in mail..Its been more than a year I have been a member of macy's...I have NOT receive a SINGLE coupon on my name...

When I call up the customer service, each time the call takes around 30mins and each time they have a different answer..The first representative says that I have not used my card to be eligible to receive the coupons (And the truth is I use my card ATLEAST once in a month, How often do they want me to use the card???? )

The second rep says that coupons are mailed one per household and the coupon mailing is associated to my husband's macys card, Since he does not use his card often, they are not sending the coupons...But, hey, what about my account...I am using it often and don't receive any coupons on my name?????...The representative says they is hardly he can do anything abt it...Thats so wierd...

The third rep says she is gonna recheck my a/c to see why the coupons are not being mailed and the time frame the process takes is 1-2 weeks...Hah...Taking their own sweet time to get thgs straight on their end...

All the reps suggest me to get printable coupons from online...But those are exclusive coupons applied on selected items...And also most of their coupons donot apply on "Everyday value" items cloths which constitute 90% of their clothing department...Those hardly make any sense for 95% customers like me...Huh...

I AM GONNA CLOSE MY A/C WITH MACYS AND LET ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS KNOW HOW MUCH TERRIBLE IS MACYS CUSTOMER SERVICE..I WILL MAKE SURE THEY DON'T SHOP IN MACYS AGAIN AND DO THEMSELVES A FAVOR...

Rude female rep
I bought a watch of other brand and went to DKNY counter to adjust the chain. Two customers were there besides the counter waiting. I came over to ask where to adjust the chain. A male rep told me where the line is. One customer left with her watch adjusted minutes later, so I came over to give my watch. I don't know which rep works for DKNY and which rep is responsible for chain adjustment. Now a female black rep pointed and yelled this was DKNY counter, DKNY customers went first, you had to wait. She was extremely rude and loud to clear the area at the front of the counter. How do I know the other customer is DKNY customer? (She may be choosing watches or waiting to adjust watch chain too) If customers came over to fix chain, where are they supposed to stand then? I saw one standing closely by the counter!!! And she was gone when I was waiting!!! Stupid rep just doesn't know how to say in a nice way and respect customers.

Rude employee
First of all I would like to start by saying that this store is becoming more and more predjudice everyday! I was shopping in Macy's lastnight around 9:30! Not one time did the employee's ask did I need any help. But you can best believe the worker on shift was watching my every move. It came time for the store to close and they came over the intercom to please take the rest of your items to the register, as I did. When I got to the register, my shirt didn't a price tag for them to scan. The young man ask me if there was another shirt like that on the rack, because this one didn't have a price tag. I told him that i wasn't sure but it had come from off of the clerance rack, which said the shirts were 9.99. Then gurl that was working also said that she would look. SHe finds the shirt and says yes its 10.99. Then it came time for them to ring up the jeans and this is when all *** broke lose. They told me they were 20.99 and the sign where I got the jeans said clearly that they were 14.99. Now every pair of jeans on the rack looked exactly a like on the front, stitched in white. But on the back of the jeans they had several different ones. It just so happen that I had the last pair that looked like the ones I wanted. The worker had the nerve to tell me there were no more like the one's I had so I would have to pay full price. Now I am pissed as *** because you could clearly see that all of the jeans were just a like aecept for the pockets had several different styles. The 5 dollar difference wasn't the point it was the principle that she didn't want to give me the advertising price. I have spent hundreds of dollars in this store and this is how I am treated. I had a pocket full of money and could of payed any price. But I guess because of the color of my skin I couldn't get any help or customer appreciation either! But If I was putting the *** in my purse I could of got all the help I needed then, Huh!!!
Disappointed Macys Customer February 25, 2010
Customer Service
Today, I contacted Macy’s about my husband’s account. I spoke with a young lady named Jamie. I tried to explain to Jamie that Macy’s is reporting an incorrect balance on my husband’s credit report. My husband has made payments to his Macy’s account monthly since December 2009 through Northland, a company representing Macy’s. We recently settled the account for the amount of 3000.00 on February 15. Prior to settling the account, monthly payments were made in the amount of 80.00. Yesterday, we contacted Macy’s to find out when the account would be updated with the correct balance as we are in the process of purchasing a new home. I was told by a CSR that the account was not flagged correctly and the Manager of the department would update the records the following day. I followed up today to see when the account would reflect the changes that I had been told would transpire today and was told by Jamie, that Macy’s had 45 days to respond to the credit bureaus and by it being a closed account that they are not obligated to report on it at all. I tried to explain to her that we spoke with someone the day before that assured my husband that the change would be made today, but she insisted that I did not understand what she was saying and started calling me Wanda by my first name. Somehow I went from Mrs. Brown to just Wanda. I asked to speak with someone else and she said that I was welcome to call back and speak to anyone that answers the phone. I then asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me that her supervisors do not answer calls and that she is very capable of handling this call. I asked her if I could speak with the person responsible for updating account records and she then told me that she did not know who that was or what department responsible for updating the account. I asked is there an address or fax number that she could give so that I could write a formal letter requesting service and she said no and told me that she would be hanging up. Customer Service is an important part of retail. If CSRs are this rude to customers, why would I wish to continue to spend my money there. Even though I no longer have a credit card there, I often spend money with Macy and pay by cash. I won't anymore and when asked I will tell my friend about my experience.
