I can tell you for a fact that no credit cards numbers are linked to their system. SO don't listen to this. It is a easy ploy to get consumers to give their card number. What they have in their systems is basically nothing. Since most consumers know the first digit of credit card numbers they start with this. Example Visa- 4, Mastercard-5, Discover-6, and Amex-3. Normally these questions are said to be confirmed by the supervisor who is no more than a closer that the call was transferred to. The Supervisors sit on their behinds and demand that you make sales. Sounds funny doesn't it. A telemarketing scam where only the sales reps to all the work, and the Managers sit around and complain. I don't think it is fair in a world or economy like this for a company to just be out for the buck! Never agree to give your credit card unless the company can confirm what you ordered. Also they are good with the lies. They will tell you they will mail you a copy of your order when you ask what you ordered. They will tell you you are a winner when actually your name was sent to them through a file. The only way to believe a company is telling you the truth is to Research. Trust me. I learned first hand. A concerned Consumer... Who doesn't like Humans to be taken advantage of. Whether that be the employees or the customer.
I hope this little information helps someone...
