DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! PLEASE READ WHY... There are so many issues, I hardly know where to start, but let's start at the beginning - 1. This device fails EVERY time your computer goes to sleep or the screen saver comes up. This means that even if you leave your computer on overnight, you cannot use Magic Jack unless you take it out of the USB port you are using and move it to a different one. Every time. You will get your incoming calls if someone happens to call when you happen to be on the computer, but if you're not, it will go to "voicemail". This problem was verified by a so-called customer service agent. 2. I never could access voice mail. EVER. I got email messages with a voicemail file attached, but that never ever played for me either. It wasn't supported by any media on my computer, nor did it suggest another to use. Subsequently, complaint #3 - terrible customer service. You cannot reach a live person, and I'm certain the "people" on the other line are actually robo-agents. If they are real, they are incredibly simple-minded. I tried to explain the inability to access voice mail, and I kept getting the same stupid solution over and over, to which I finally asked if they were real people. They escalated to another customer service agent, who repeated the same solutions. I gave up. 4. DO NOT PORT A NUMBER TO MAGIC JACK! I ported over my home number before I realized the dumb thing didn't work and it cost me $25 to port it in. (That's not the end of the story). But once they get it, it is nearly impossible to move to another carrier, which I tried once I realized trying to get MJ to work was a lost cause. After a 3 week delay, and after spending more time with robo-agents, I finally got the information I needed (which is an account number that I never knew I had), and following that, got an email with a link to CHARGE ME $30 TO HAVE IT PORTED OUT! I'm incensed. I had to do it, as I didn't want to lose my number, but they should be paying me for all my hassle. Once I get the number ported out, I will protest the charge on my credit card bill, hopefully with success after this nightmare. If I haven't convinced you by now, I will say one last time, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
