Magic Jack has to be the single worst investment I have ever made
Magic Jack has to be the single worst investment I have ever made. It does not perform as advertised; there is no clarity in either reception or transmission. I have spent hours and hours on the computer with tech support and everyone tells me it is fixed and yet when I use the product, the voice quality on either end is as if you are talking under water. I know in life you get what you pay for and magic jack was a quick fix for me since I didn't want to put a land line into a residence I would use for only 3 months. How stupid and gullible could I have been to have believed the advertising??? I guess pretty stupid and very gullible. Don't make the same mistake I have, save your money and your time (which is as valuable as cash) and DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I HAVE; DO NOT PURCHASE MAGIC JACK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Tech help is polite, knowledgeable and kind, but ultimately powerless to make it better. I have tried every fix under the sun and NOTHING works. Calls don't come in, people can't hear me or if they can hear me, they are unable to understand me. I do not understand them. It is as if I am talking through a voice changing device, where the voice is so well disguised that the speech is unintelligible to anyone on the other end. Try making calls to businesses like that... get a land line or increase the minutes on your cell.

Rip off!!!!!!!!!!
Too many to write here but down to the nut shell this is a rip off and they will not stand by their warranty and they lie. Then the employee would not give me the information to contact the founder, the company, or any address, phone, or her id number so I could report them.

Nothing, but problems
I recently got my magic jack and i am having problems with it. i have tried everything on the internet. there is no way to get a live person on the phone to help. also when you try to return it the computer says it has no record of your oder. yet they can bill my bank account.

This company does not have a telephone
Lets start off by saying Please save yourself the head ache DONT BUY this product. The entire infomercial looks and sounds great but they dont tell you upfront is that its really not a 30 day trial but rather a 15 day trial cause after 15 days they charge your credit card like they did mine.

They dont tell you that if you ever have a problem you WILL NEVER speak to a live representative, cause the company does not have a telephone.

They dont tell you that they are going to redistribute your personal information to other customers in their database like they did mine

They dont tell you that if you wish to send your product back it will take them 45 days to issue you a refund.

They dont tell you up front that in order to have 24/7 phone access your computer can not go into hibernation or be shut off, imagine if you have an emergency at night time when your computer is usually off and dont have access to a phone, ? or if you have a burglar and need to contact the police?

For example, let's say you have a high-end computer and you leave it on 24/7. That's about 330 watts x 24 hours x 365 days/yr = 2, 890, 800 watt-hours, or 2891 kilowatt-hours. If you're paying $0.14 per kWh, you're paying $405 a year just to run your computer.

When you do call 911 they dont tell you that your actually speaking with a internet computer and not that of your local police department which by the way you have to be sure you give them all kinds of information Home address, name, phone #, etc) before they even dispatch anyone out to your home.(I dont know about you guys but I have small children, who are to young to memorize this information, and trust them to know that in a hectic situation/emergency thay are going to be able to assist this internet operator to get some help in time? I mean what if something ever happened to mommy or daddy and they needed the police but didnt know the information because their to young 5, yrs old?

They dont tell you that you can not make any phone calls that require you to input #s such as if you call your bank and have to input your ss# good luck because every number you press is multiplied by 2 try inputing your account # ssi# or anthing that is requiring verification data of you, sorry you can't so if the company your calling does not have a customer service rep wgile peek hours your out of luck.

They dont tell you that you have to dial your area code to make phone calls within your own city, so to call your next door neighbor you must first dial your area code.

They dont tell you that you can not be on your computer doing work because every time someone in your house picks up the phone or a call comes in a box pops up which you have to minimize, and yes you have to minimize it for every call going out or coming in, trust me its a pain especially when your spouse work is done primarily on the pc, try wrting a word, power point, excel, while every 10 seconds you have a box popping up on your working screen, now you can take care of this problem by simply unplugging your phone, thus eliminating anyone in the home using the phone, or receiving calls, but hey atleast you get your work done without any annoying boxes interupting you.

They dont tell you that once you connect the magic jack to your computer, your going to be using up your systems resources, & have to update all your pc's direct x functions, so if your not a computer garu your in trouble, or you can just call their tech support and speak with someone who can walk you through the process... oh no wait sorry they have no live person you can talk to if you need any customer assistance or tech support you have to go online and chat with them. by the way good luck getting somone to log in to the chat area to assit you, lets just say that if its less then 2 minutes your one of the lucky ones.

I dont know about you folks but I wish someone would of told me all this before I spent my time and money buying this product cause now the end result is that I have no product as i sent them back and I have no money cause they have yet to date to issue a refund, and I cant speak with no one cause oh yeah there's no phone # to call the company, corporate or eitherwise. In cloing i hope i was able to save someone the ordeal and head aches I have gone through with this company, I just hope I get my money back, i'll keep trying its now been 18 days and counting since I spoke, sorry chatted with a customer service rep. If you do purchase this product I wish you all the luck, but i'm sure I will be reading more posts about this great $20 a year phone service, I guess its true what my dad always told me if something sounds to good to be true 9 out of 10 times it usually is.

The customer support is useless and stupid
BROKEN error every time the chat gets you know were, i run a small business and i see how there chat works same program i us. The customer support is useless and stupid! i mean i don't use that word often but seriously don't hassle with it! they also wont refund you the money!!!

Stay away from this fraudulent company
Be careful I ordered majicjack on the phone paid 3.99 extra for 3-4 day delivery, it has been over 9 days and they dont give you a 800# to call to talk to a live person or any way of asking. they dont tell you that if you have a pre-paid debit that they want the money before your 30 day trial, so I have paid on nov.14 for it and also for the 3-4 day delivery, it is nov.22 and I cant find out anything.Darlene, Tx.

Misleading
Ok here is my experience with Magic Jack I ordered
a Magic Jack on April 17 2010 and I did the rush
shipping since I am in Canada I thought this would
be the fastest way to get the magic jack to me.

I can tell you that this has been nothing but a
headache the support staff are absolutely useless
I have done the online chat many times and they
are just idiots. The staff don't know what they
are doing and are over all pretty bad the staff
are rude to you when you deal with them.

So I have been asking where is my Magic Jack because
according to their site they claim that an order
would be to a person in 2 - 4 days after ordering
well I can tell you that is an outright lie.

So far I have been waiting 16 days for my Magic
Jack and it still isn't here.

In all of my research I did find contact information
for Magic Jack.

Also I tried to get an answer out of ymaxcorp.com
on their TV ads it says that you get free calling from
the USA and Canada but in their Terms of Service it says
that you only get free calls to the USA.

the ad that is running here in Canada.

This is just a scam they tell you one thing in their
ads and another thing in their Terms of Service.


Do not order a magic Jack this is just a rip off!

Do not invest in magicjack under any circumstances
Well, here we go again is all i can say! Remember the old addage "if it sounds to good to be true". I mean when are we going to wake up? Please who-ever reads this comment take the old addage for what IT'S worth and keep your money in your pocket. DO NOT i repeat DO NOT "INVEST" in magicjack!!!

Cuz it is magic and you get jack.
