This product is utter garbage
This product is utter garbage I have spent 4 dyas over 5 hours have been treated rudely by their tech staff. When they can't figure something out their comments border on the absurd. Insisting repeatedly that something has to ge there.
I had a supervisor Junex tell me to reboot knowing full well I would loose the connection because he lacked the intelligence and patience.
They had me reconfigure so many items on my computer I lost a number of programs.
my ADVICE DO NOT PURCHASE or waste your time..."A LIFETIME OF MISERY>' Also I have over 15 pages (5 online chats, ) documenting their stupidity. Filing a formal complaint with The Florida State Atttorney General.

What is this world coming to
Well when I bought the magic jack I was very disappointed about the magic. It was a complete lie!! The magic jack has nothing to do with magic. It's an electronic device that runs off of electricity. I honestly believed that this ran off actual magic. First I find out that Santa isn't real and now this. What is this world coming to.

They have non-existent customer service
Awful. Lots of gaps in conversation makes you work hard to "figure out" what has been said or not said. I work with contracts all day and this could be a disaster. They have NON-EXISTENT customer service. Too much for too little! I give it a YUK.

Spent more time on-line trying to get problems fixed than I have had service working
My service worked the first month or two. I believe my jack is bad. I purchased it through a reseller last year and found out yesterday that they will not honor the warranty when purchased from a reseller. Apparently they give resellers defective jacks to sell. Constant problems experienced like calls drop off in the middle of conversation both incoming and outgoing calls. No dial tone most of the time. Just one problem after another. Their on-line help is ok but can only repair a problem for a temporary period of time. Then the problems start all over again. I've spent more time on-line trying to get problems fixed than I have had service working. I believe they will end up going out of business.

doesn't keep working
My MagicJack, at first worked without complaints by me or my callers for about 3 months. Then I started getting complaints that my calls were cutting out when people called me. I would call them back and it would not resolve the issue of unclear calls . It was now been broken completely for a month. I called the company via their instant chat and spoke with a rep. The best solution for a broken USB port on the MagicJack is for me to buy another or pay $10 for a replacement to be shipped to me in order to use the remaining few months of the service I prepaid for. This is the best, but unacceptable solution I could negotate with their Rep. It's a rip-off and poorly made not to last. If a class action suit arise rest assure I will be joining.

I've used it almost 1 year with NO complaints
I've used Magic Jack for almost one year and I have no complaints. Looking over all the complaints on this website, I think some people just have a need to complain.
We're talking $40.00 to start or subscribe for 6 years at $109.00 or $1.51. What do you expect? These complainers would probably complain if they received it free.
The only negative is your computer has to be on and it takes a little longer to boot the computer. Do you hear $40.00 for the first YEAR!

They know u wont be back after the first year
It worked for about a week and then suddenly stopped working. U might be expecting an important call and u don't even know that your phone has been disconnected for hours. It is a cheap product and they try to sign u up for 5 years up front cuz they know u wont be back after the first year.

They cut off service after 1 year after paying for 5 years
Magic jack as a product is merely adequte; you cannot use a fax phone without paying xtra; however the larger issue is you cannot contact them when they cut off service after 1 year after paying for 5 years!!

My experience was totally frustrating
I purchased my Majic Jack in Boston and brought it home to British Columbia, using a California number. I was relatively happy with it as I make many calls to the US. The quality on my end was fine, although many said that my calls were quite crackly on their end, which was probably due to DSL problems on my side. After one month of use I received an 'excess usage' message on the application; it would not work anymore. I chatted with several technicians, all of who transferred me to a 'higher authority' and said the same thing: call a particular number and it would be resolved. I called for literally two days straight with no answer, or a message saying the number was disconnected. I chatted back after three days to learn that I had been given a wrong number. I finally reached the number and was told that my device was dead and that it was not possible to re-register it. I had also bought a five-year plan, but this was not enough to salvage the account. I couldn't even buy another device! The entire episode took four days to discover I had no more service. I am furious with this company and will tell all my friends on FBook and MySapce to stay away from Majic Jack! My experience was totally frustrating and they were consistently uninformed and unprofessional.

Will not Refund Money
I just tried to get a refund from MAGIC JACK, well I was informed that the trial period has expired and I get NOTHING! My $86.85 GONE. My husband bought it for me as a gift and the 30 days had gone by before it was gift giving time. I have sattelite for my internet and folks there is nothing on the MAGIC JACK ad that says anything about sattelite.It will not work with sattelite because there is a milisecond or so lapse. I explained to the lady I have not even taken it out of the pkg and they DON"T CARE. What a ripp off!! Do Not buy these things! Not a good company to do business with!
