Do not buy Magicjack, it will continually restart
Do not buy Magicjack it will continually restart & stop customer service via Chat keeps doing same thing ove again does not fix. Then you get another Jack they Charge you for it. They will not refund you Long distance Credit if you bought. nor will they cancel & refund a 5yr plan if git it. so they make money you loose out. Highly Di satisfied with the whole Company. use at your own expense.

During my conversations, the phone is constantly beeping in the other persons ear. I don't hear it but they do. Can someone help solve this situation because i have tried updates and it does not work.

Ineffective Customer Support and doesn't work
Have had MJ 2 years ... in all that time have successfully made about 20 calls, most of which had horrible sound quality or dropped before I was finished with the call. Customer service is infuriating ... most polite, but they have no knowledge or substance and do NOT fix the problem. I've spent more hours with customer service than I was ever able to spend in conversations using the phone. Customer service laps 5-8 minutes between responses to what I type!!!
I've read some responses to complaints from people saying it works for them. Great, if true. I suspect those people work for Magic Jack as I've had nothing but problems and am finally ready to say "Uncle" and not even try it again. It is the MOST disappointing and frustrating product I have ever purchased in all my 60+ years on Planet Earth. And yes, I DO have the best of everything on my expensive computer and do have a computer science and engineering background and know how to work things!
You know what they say when "It's too good to be true." It is.

"Free" trial
I signed up for the "free" trial today. The order is not processed, however, they have already taken the money from my account. They state the money will be billed for 31 days. The first 30 days are a free trial and then on the 31st day you are billed. I paid by debit card and at no time on the order entry page was I informed that if I pay by debit card I would be billed immediately. The live chat is a joke. I was given no assistance because there is no record of an order. Meanwhile, I have been billed and charged in full for what should be a "free" trial.

Awful quality product
I bought the MagicJack thinking for $20.00 a year I would have to try this. Well...$1.70 per month is way too expensive for what you get!! When you are using it, within seconds the audio starts breaking up so bad you can't understand a word anyone is saying. Then if it is actually clear on your end, it is beeking loudly every 3 seconds on the other end. I took the first one back thinking it was damaged. I bought another to try, that one was just as bad as the first.
Do something else with your $20.00!!

Worst piece of junk I've ever used
The majic jack is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchaed. The only thing worse than the product itself is the support. They never help you & just keep you online typing for ever & then say they have to move you to a higher level of support & you have to start all over again. I cancelled my account & removed the product & got a new phone number & the majic jack is still screwing up my new phone system. After hours online asking them to fix it, it never gets done. They don't care at all...Trust me don't buy this product!!!

Well the price is great if they would change a lot of there advertising crap. I have had many problems with the MJ since I have received it about 7 months ago. The first 2 months I had it worked pretty well actually but after that I don't know if it was one of there upgrades or if the unit it self is bad caller id works sometimes on the handset, choppy robotic at times (They say it is probably due to the internet but I have a great connection when this happens and I am a network graduate so I am confident the problem lies with the MJ maybe a heat problem?). As is this would be a good device for a traveler with a laptop but even then you have to carry a phone with you.. Things that I hate about MJ even when it is working are listed 1st the splash screen ( a splash screen comes up in the middle of your desktop and can not be minimized it is the MJ loading screen basically and you can not do really anything until it is done because it is always on top of anything opened on your screen showing you "Tell your friends" this splash screen is not needed and more of an irritation than anything get rid of it!!!, second there is no setting to stay hidden (if you are a gamer or doing anything on the computer and someone calls the MJ displays (if it is a fullscreen game or anything it will minimize) This feature pop up or show is not needed especially when you have a phone with caller id but if they want it at least let us have the ability to make it load and operate behind the scenes, Also the MJ program has Advertisements on the program it self I mean come on really we already bought it why would we buy another not to mention the program has to get this ad online so all this advertising is using bandwidth (phoning home). All in all I rate MJ a 2 if they only started focusing on the user and less on there advertising they may find that more people are telling there friends good things about them.

Worst piece of junk I've ever owned. My daughter, son and sister purchased their MacgicJack the sand time I did... 10/08. Each of them has thrown the unit in the trash and went back to Vonage. I hung on until 06/09. MagicJack has tried repeatedly to make the unit work, Spent hours on the phone. They stalled me for over 30 days so the money back guarantee would expire. Now they say, "Sorry".

After using Magicjack for one year it just quit working
After using Magicjack for one year it just quit working. When it is plugged into my computer, it shuts it down. It will not let the computer load up unless it is removed. I have contacted the online chat people and they don't have a clue of how to fix it. They keep telling me to plug it in and when I do I loose contact with them. I just renewed my license for another year and now I can't use it. It worked just fine for the first year and then nothing.

Does not work correctly
The device does not work correctly. It causes your computer to take forever to boot up, and will run, and run for the longest time.
When connected to phone, the phone does not work properly. Even my computer speakers do not work now.
Don't order it!
