Unauthorized charges
Magic Jack is a terrible Voip service. It is cheaply made, you can barely hear people on the other end when you get through to them. Yes, When you get through to the person on the other end.
Stay far away from MagicJack!

Charges on my Att billing
This month when I received my AT@T telephone bill I had an extra billing by Universal Call Plan Inc. for 19.95 plus loacal and federal charges and tax coming to a total of 21.45.
I called AT@T and they told me It coud be a scam. I called the USBI number and I did not get a direct answer as to what this pertains too.
They said it was for long distance calls in the U.S. and canada. I did not sign up for this, and I told them I was not going to pay. I don't know even know what it pertains to.
Can you clarify this this?
Could this be a scam by Google? Thank you.

Unauthorized charges
Purchased Magic Jack -- never got it to install or work. Absolutely no tech support. Only on line chat which is very poor at best -- Went this route at least 3 times and ended up with nothing that was ANY help. Absolutely no phone or e-mail available. It almost seems this is a huge scam being perpetrated on the public.

I said I would Update you on this matter! Magic jack is true to there word! After 8 Months of no phone! they sent me a new unit It works great not like the first one! the first one there was alot of cutting in and out. The other party didn't understand what I was saying. My true feelings are there was something wrong with my first magic Jack. after it went out Yes I did have alot of trouble with techs from Magic Jack. If you are have trouble Email Magic Jack you will find it on trouble shooting page look and search for Contacting Magic Jack! My service now is outstanding! I'm very pleased needless to say! you have to go above the person you talked to on there web site leave them a Email! they will and do work with you. not the bumbling fouls that work for Magic Jack on line help! Remember there is always someone higher up and Sh*t rolls down stream!

Bad service
I could not get a local number for starters. And when i try to talk, the connection is horrible, it cuts in and out like a bad cell phone, breaking up. And sometimes the person i am talking to, their voice will sound like a robot computer voice hung up on one word like a record skipping. I cannot even use this phone.

I bought MJ to use it for international calls only. I bought a credit line of $40 and a week later MJ doubled the prices. A chat "helper" promised me that I will be credited back, but it never happened.
Worst experience ever. I've got jacked from Majic Jack.

This seemed too good to be true and it was. Never worked right from the beginning. Was on their chat customer service for 6 hours and they screwed it up even more. Every time you call in they have you do the same process over and over again even if it does not work. They will not stand behind their product. I wanted a refund and they were sorry buy that wouldn't happen. Save yourself a lot of grief and keep your land line.

I have never had so much trouble getting something to work on my computer as I have had with magic jack. I spent over two hours in live chat with two different women walking me through the "drives" of my computer to enable this and disable that just so it would function. And after all of that, it still doesnt work. It would not toggle between the headset mode and the telephone mode no matter what you did. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO SAVE THE MONEY YOU THINK YOU WILL--YOU'LL SPEND THE DIFFERENCE ON TYLENOL. I WASN'T EVEN THIS MAD AT MY EX WIFE!

no open local area code
i purchased the Magic Jack, Sun a week ago, i finally set it up thursday. only to find that all the area codes were out of area, toll codes, ...i talked to a C/S rep. and was told check the availablity the next morning, there were no slot open in that area code. the magic jack offers you a free 1 time chance to change you phone #, for four day i have been trying to get the local area code of 707, i settled for 415 temp, but two days a go i hit the wrong button and got a new phone number in the 209 area code. i have been on the phone for the last 5 days, being told the tech are working on opening more slots for 707, and will notify me when it happens, but will not even give me a estimate of time, and i lost my free chance to change phone #, the "system " will not let them override or change it. So at this point in time i am out 40.00 $$, will have to pay for a new # ..some year, i can get a corp office address to write..or a phone # to call anyone ...but i did get a lot of apologizes and sympathy...no phone or reall help. but lots of talk...so if any one can help me reslove this problem i would greatly appreicate.. cant call..no phone

Unauthorized billing
The phone service is choppy and most calls have to be dialed twice. I kept it for 6 months doing all the upgrades and whatever the person I chatted to told me to do. Still was terrible voice connections. I had purchased the platinum preferred plan-$59.95 extra charge-and that is all I am asking them to return. On january 5, 2009 I called to cancel and get my refund back on my credit card. Since I had not activated the 5 years-they would be able to do this. Well, it is 2/25/09 and 5 chats later, no credit. I have the RMA ID# and luckily I save purchases in e-mail. very convenient to copy and past info from. I will not give up-they promised me it was posted to my card yesterday. Not Yet!!! This is a really bad scam and I am sick of it
