Fraud and scam
Purchased MJ and it worked fine for a couple of months then I got an error message about having to plug it into the USB port. It WAS plugged into the port. I downloaded the fix-it file and it still didn't work. I spent about 8 maybe 9 HOURS in about 4 or 5 sessions trying to get it fixed. Every time I attempted to text with them we had to start all over from the beginning. It was a real pain trying to get past the chat stuff. THEY don't have a phone #. Isn't that strange, no phone number for a company that touts being able to make phone calls for free? The help? tech support had me doing everything including re-booting my machine. Guess what? when you call back you can't get to the same person that knows what you have gone through. They ended up taking me into the regedit file (or something like that) and making changes (twice) when it was all over I could no longer find my CD burner, my DVD burner, anything else that was on a USB port and I couldn't uninstall the MagicJack. Finally, I told them to just quit pretending and send me a new MJ. I have since taken my computer to the shop, added another hard drive, moved everything to the new drive, reformatted the C: drive, re-loaded windows XP, moved my programs and documents back and I am now going to use an old barebones computer to have MJ loaded with Outlook so I can finally use this wonderful money-saving device. So far this technological wonder has cost me about 24 hours and about $600.00. If they had a phone # it would be a lot faster trying to make this marvel work. I am convinced that IF I had been able to speak with someone that knew what was going on they could have made this thing work. Unfortunately, the first person you chat with is a Dodo and when you are kicked up to someone that has real tech experience you get to start over from the beginning because THEY don't trust their cohorts to have done the right thing.

Fraud and scam
I purchased a magic jack and have never been able to get it to work properly. The company does not offer telephone technical support, and therefore you must wait for an email chat with their support department. The support techs go thru the same system tweaks each time you call and then you must restart your system, which causes you to lose the tech you were speaking with. You log back on and get another tech and the process starts all over... Hours and hours (average of 3 hours at a time!) and the jack still does not work properly. The calls fade out, there is echoing during calls, static, etc. The has never been a regular phone call since purchasing the jack in July. When I tried to cancel, the techs promised resolution. I got a temporary fix which lasted a few days - just enough to end the 30 day refund period. Need I say more? After wasting many many hours trying to get the jack to work properly, I am exhausted and finished. The only way it will work is if you restart the program before EVERY call! Which means that if someone calls you, you must take their number and tell them you will call them back shortly. Then you need to restart the program before calling the party back. You must do this before each and every phone call! And even then, it is not guaranteed to work! After the 30 day period, the company refuses to give any refunds. It was like pulling teeth to get them to even agreed to send a replacement to try. The replacement didn't work either... My advice - don't bother. It is not worth the aggravation!

THIS IS THE BIGGEST FRAUD I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES. WHAT PART OF THIS COMPANY IS NOT A FRAUD? I HAVE TALKED TO THEM THROUGH THE LIVE CHAT AND ON THE PHONE. THEY CHARGED MY CARD THE SECOND I HIT SUBMIT. NOT 30 DAYS LATER. . ZERO Customer Service
DO NOT SIGN UP... SOUNDS GREAT BUT COMPANY HAS DECIDED PROVIDING CUSTOMER SERVICE HURTS THEIR BOTTOM LINE...IF YOU WISH TO WASTE HOURS TRYING TO GET A SIMPLE ANSWER... GETTING PASSED AROUND LIKE A CHEER LEADER... THEN GO FOR IT!
USED CAR SALESMAN WOULD MAKE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS!

Poor customer service
Following nearly seven hours on the chat window with seven representatives the Magic Jack still did not operate. The reps basicly tried the same solutions over and over despite indicating they had read the previous reps tried solutions. Iasked the last rep if the chat window text could be forwrded to a supervisor to review the tried solutions and then email me at the address supplied with a possible solution. The rep said she could not promise anything.
I asked if the supervisor could conmtact me via email and she again said she could not promise anything. I should have asked if they could call me from their MagicJack.

Mine Doesn't work
I have current service paid until April of 2009---it doesn't work and I have no service at all---please have Magic Jack contact me at 541-265-3806 right away!!!

non functional
After following all of the given instructions of not only the procedures on the instruction package but also the on-line tech's, my magic jack is not even giving me a phone number nor is it working. I have registered over and over again, increased the speed on my internet, as they asked of me, spoke with several on line tech's . And still the product dose not work

Bad service
I just purchased the magicjack and I can't even get it to work. I am sending it back.I got this on the 30 day trial then pay for it. I am disgusted with it and am sending it back before the trial ends so I won't lose any money. They said to just plug it in and do everything to register it and I did and it still won't work. It is a good idea but not worth it if you are getting the run around and can't even get in touch with anyone to help you.

Bad service
I have been using the Magicjack for about 5 months, and it worked ok. Sometimes the connection is garbled or has an echo, but about 75% of the time the sound is good. It has saved me a lot of money in long distance phone calls. I use it as a second line for outgoing long distance calls only.

But, lately I am getting the "broken storage" message, and can't start it. I've been on the chat help with them for hours, and we fix it. Then the next day the problem is there again.

I'm going to try for a replacement...we'll see how it goes.

Scam
magic jack support can't tell me why no one can call my magic jack number from a land line or a cell phone and get through.

Magic Jack live support can't make a phone call to test your phone either.

"we don't have test calls at this time" was their reply.

sigh... offshore support, Costa Rica I think...

I hope someone discovers the switching problem soon and gets it fixed. Xander and Michaela were

pretty confused tonight. They thought they could fix this with firmware upgrades to my device etc.

I asked them to just report the problem to IT or hardware but no reply after that.

Oh well, $40 doesn't buy you much support I guess.
