Shame on Magic Jack for the Scam they have unvailed upon it's own people of America. My complaints are justified and real. I fell into their pack of lies and this is the result:
1. Customer service sucks
2. Live help does not exist, when you click on it, it just goes to a page with more sales hype
3. They promised me when they got the Montaa 406 area code I could switch. After hours of trying to get that done, I finally gave up.
4. Calls drop after a few minutes for no reason.
5. Poor sound quality... They other person has trouble hearing me on all calls.

I would like to see Magic Jack crucified and hung out to dry for all Americans to see...OH, and how could they violate that youg innocent girl in their bogus lying advertisement?

(1) The product does not work as advertised: it does not work at all.
(2) returning it is not an option: the RMA requires 2 of several numbers: I tried many (tracking#, order #, email address) all provided via email to me HOWEVER the Magic Jack database never could (magically?) find the order and therefore could not issue the RMA form.
(3) Although the website says LIVE CHAT that does not exist either--it only links to a 'so-called' knowledge base--which was useless.
(4) there is no PACKING SLIP to make return easy for the customer.
(5) I tried for 2 1/2 hours to make the 'simple' install work--following the knowledge base suggestion.

The Magic? They take your money and turn it into 'float' as you attempt to get a credit.

Whew!!! What a ride to nowhere this thing is! I got the Magicjack and used it for about a week and started running into problems. It stopped booting up. So I went to their useless customer service chatline. I spent hours with their chat people trying to get this thing working and whenever they hit a snag they hangup on you. Then you are left with a lousy piece of junk and no phone number to call for reall support like a real company has. This is a total ripoff. If anyone wants to start a class action suit I will be a plaintiff.

After three horrid days of phone rage and Internet quagmire I finally decided to report these yahoos.
I called the BBB and found out the company has an F rating and well over 800 other complaint that are not resolved.
I called the Attorney General and was told to try this web site.

If enough customers that have been victimized report to the proper authorities these bungee bunnies will finally meet the cement.

I bought a Magic Jack which is an add-on to my computer which is supposed to allow me to make long distance and local calls for a yearly fee as well as provide several other telephone services including directory information.
I was supposed to be able to pick the telephone number for the computer on-line telephone service. But during the installation phase of the magic jack I was asked for my area code. The magic jack computer program listted two area codes for Indiana. There is no opportunity for me to explain to the magic jack people that their installation program is defective. I was also supposed to be allowed to pick the rest of my phone number but their program would not allow me an opportunity to make any selection at all. I want my magic jack telephone number to be 812-3766415. Instead, I have no telephone number at all. I am also supposed to have access to telephone directory assistance. I tried to get the telephone number of my friend Joel Okada in Elsegundo, California. The directory assistance the magic jack provided was defective. No matter how many times I tried to tell their robot how to spell Okada it refused to spell the name by anything but Okaba, which is dead wrong.
The magic jack company lists their telephone number on a blurb that appears on my computer screen whenever I try to make a phone call. I have called their number many times, as has my son Steven March, to try to get someone there to correct these problems. The problem with this is that no one answers their telephone.
