They charged my credit card and told me my order was canceled
They told me my order was canceled but still charged my creditcard. and gave two links where i can get the magicjack. could you please help me to get my money back. I usede the magic talk without the the jack and it worked fine. but after paying they gave me a USA number. but after the 1st of februari the software said that my trial had expired. Everytime i try to log in to use it it gives me the same dialog. could you please send me the phone number of them so I can call them to claim my money back or get my account opened again beacuse it worked fantastic during the trial.

Breaks up when talking and useing computer at the same time
I bought magic jack 10/5/2010 and hoped to use it for my new website business so I got my site up in 1/2011 and discovered that while talking to customers and trying to view my web site and scroll to find products to add to their order the phone conversation breaks up so bad that you can't talk. I contacted jack and they did try some things to help fix it but nothing worked so I said how about a refund they said it was over 30 days and they could not. I said how about prorate it they said NO! So I guess I am stuck with this thing and I can't even use it..My advice..If you are planning to use it while working a web site or surfing, , DON'T GET IT!!!

Be careful of what you press & read the small print or you will be hit with a fee
Purchased 1 several months ago & sent it to a friend of mine. I forgot the phone number of the subscription. I bought another 1 and registered. A phone no appears so I select it. Turns out that it was the same no of the 1st one. No warnings whatsoever nor a reminder that this is the number of your 1st line do you want to proceed? So when I realized that it was the same no.

I contacted CS per live chat and lo and behold I will be charged with $10 for an attempt to change the no because it does not allow for mistakes. The menu now will ask do you want to change the no. (Of course it was a mistake!) so now you will agree to the charge of $10.00. I asked for the name of the CEO it was not given to me. Really, is this the way they do business? trick the customer into paying a fee? Great way to drive away customers.

Cannot use but once each time I boot
I just renewed my Magic Jack for one additinal year. I was having trouble before, but it is even worse since I renewed.

I usually get to use the Magic Jack for one phone call, then I have to reboot. I sometimes reboot six or seven times a day.

This is not a reliable service. It is a wonderful idea if only it would work properly.

I depend on the Magic Jack for doctor's returned calls, and all too often, they cannot get through. This is dangerous to my health. I depend on those calls.

I am 71 years old and am waiting for phone calls from three different doctors. I have had an MRI and I am waiting to see just what the doctors plan to do about my illness. I have sciatica and Scoliosis. I need a phone that I can depend on.

Billing fraud
I went on to the Magic Jack website and carefully checked FAQs and order form etc. and it all assured me that if I ordered today 1/31/11 that my card would not be billed [anything] until 2/18/11. On the order form, it had both a box for debit and credit cards and on the form it said completely free 30 day trial, so I gave my card number and ordered.

A few minutes later I logged on to my online bank account regarding a deposit and there was a $45+ debit to my account!!!

I called and emailed and live chatted for hrs trying to resolve this and got a snotty chat guy named Andre who actually said that Debit card orders were debited right away and when I said I saw that nowhere on the webiste, he sent me a link to Wikipedia/debit and said maybe I needed to know the difference between a credit and debit card!!

I then found a number on a complaint forum

Called and was on hold for 25 minutes. Got a snotty rep who constantly interupted me. I asked if I could finish telling her my problem and she hung up on me.

over an hr after all of this, Magic Jack sent me a "Confirmation Email" that stated at the bottom that for the tv special only credit cards could be accepted.??? Why the debit card box on the order form???

Cannot contact these people. Did cancel the order via live chat but will have to wait "5-7 Business Days until credit processed".

I would NEVER deal with Magic Jack or "Live Chat@ Live person either since Andre was such a jerk.
VERY negative experience. I am so angry!!! Plus now our house payment will probably bounce.

poor customer service, fraudulent charges, product does not work
I got the magic jack about a year ago. It worked fine for a year, but suddenly it just went crazy. When calls would come in, the phone wouldn't ring. I know it wasn't the phone, because we tried a different phone with it and still had that problem. Then, it stopped letting me call out. It started saying that our account had an unpaid balance. My husband went online and paid for another year, thinking that maybe it was time to renew. This still didn't fix it saying we had an unpaid balance. We tried talking to customer service, who promised that they would replace the device once we tested it with a new phone. We did this, and still nothing. When we talked to customer service again, they then tried to act like our computer was the issue, but this is not true, because we have never had a problem with this computer, or our internet. After going around with them for a couple of hours, then they came up with this "charge" that we supposedly owed on our account. They claimed that when we first got the magic jack, we somehow just put the payment on hold, and had owed them $46 for a year. Nevermind that it went through on our credit card when we first bought it, and that in all this time they had never contacted us saying we owed anything, and that we were able to have service for a year even though we supposedly never paid for the device. We told them that we did pay for it, that it went through on our card, and that we weren't paying anything more because it was already paid in full, but they still refused to help and kept insisting that we pay this charge that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Needless to say, we are through dealing with Magic Jack.

Magic Jack
YIKES !!! 31/2 hours of trying to figure out how to change my number-ended up having to open up another browser to get the page to fully open up. After that I only got static and broken up conversations only to hear from the live chat that is you have satellite for your computer-they don't recommend it. Where was that in all the commercial hype????????????????????? Noticed they already have taken the money for the 30 day free trial. Am sending this crap back and is I don't get it resoved-I will notify the BBB because they do not mess around. There statments are false. They do not tell you they are taking the money until you have placed your order. Whoever says this is a fine product are full of crap and do work for their company. Seen one submitted praise on here for this product-see it on every co9mplaint board I ever read.

products do not work
I purchased a magic jack and installed it on my computer and it worked for a little while. The volume of the calls were awful. It soon stopped working altogether. I have been trying for the longest to find a number for customer service but have not been able to find one anywhere. I was ripped off and I am pisted off!!!

Garbage
Since the house I moved to 2 months ago has no working phone jack, I decided to give Magic Jack a try. This is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever wasted my money on. The first two days after buying it, I spent 8 hours each day on the online chat trying to get it working properly. Finally, it began to work. But everytime I have to restart my computer, it quits working again and I have to go back to the online chat. In 2 months I have been on the chat about 6 times. I have talked to over 30 agents. (If one agent cant figure out the problem, they transfer you to one of our "top 10% as rated by our customers".) Yeah, right! In approximately 30 hours of online chat, I have never talked to the same tech twice. I have the feeling it is only one or two people using different names everytime they answer a call. Currently, I can receive calls in but cannot make calls out. Last time I went to the online chat for help fixing it, they kept me on the line four hours and then "accidentally" disconnected the call. I have given up on it ever working properly. I'm dumping it in the trash and looking for phone service elsewhere.

Can not get refunded
I purchased I the Magic Jack from a store in Canada. I received it via Canada post free shipping and handling. I plugged it into my computer and it did not work. Through the only way to contact them (live chat) they tried everything to get it to work and they deemed it defective and that they could send me a new one but I would have to pay $9.95 shipping and handling for the replacement one. I said no and to cancel it and refund me my 10.00 that it cost for a canadian phone number. They told ne that because the Canadain phone number is system generated that they could not refund me for that. I returned the Magic Jack to the Canadian store in which I bought it with no questions asked. S0 this cost me $10.00 Buyers beware that although if it had worked it may have been great but the over all experience was bad. After purchasing the Magic Jack number online and using my visa card to do so my visa was compermised and defrauded right up to its limit. I am nopt saying that Magic Jack .com did this to my visa but it happened after trying to purchase that Canadian number. Visa Canada with no questions asked gave me 100% refund for the fraud on my card but can not stop payment of $10.77 for that Canadian Phone number that is not in service. Dont buy Magic jack. Its been 3 days fighting with live chat and I have got no where. I will now report this to BBB in Canada. Their 100% risk free ad on the website is a lie.
